bencallis Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I woudn't really recomend it for gaming , could do wih a boost of ram. An entry level pc.
triforce_keeper Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 t would it run the sims 2 smoothly? and for £399 is it good?
Blackfox Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Seems a crappy deal to me. The processor will be out of date soon, it lacks RAM, has an onboard GFX card and the HDD is rather small.
DarioG Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Nah in comet i got for £200 more a... Fujitsu Siemens AMD 64 3200+ 1GB RAM Ati X550 256 MB HM graphics card (PCI-Express) 200 GB SATA II HDD 17" 12ms monitor all in all a good deal for £599
Raining_again Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 With an intel celeron chip and 256 mb ram youll have trouble doing anything that requires a lot of processing/graphics. I ran age of empires 1 on my laptop with a very similar spec to that, and it was slow. If you have £600, DarioG's suggestion seems pretty good.
DCK Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 It sucks quite badly, even for 400 quid. And please do something about your posting presentation triforce_keeper. It doesn't really inspire me to helpfulness.
Raining_again Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 A bit of punctuation wouldnt go amiss, i think thats what he's aiming at.
Mr_Odwin Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 This is better: http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/store/dix_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0716121394.1136813432@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccedaddgjjlmfgecflgceggdhhmdgmj.0&page=Product&sku=391047&fm=1&sm=8&tm=0&tabIndex=1 Though still not great, and I have no idea what the graphics situation is with the one I've linked to.
DCK Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 @ triforce_keeper: I meant that the way you make your posts (misspelled, with random smilies and words like lol everywhere) makes it seem disrespectful to the ones who read it, although you don't mean it that way. Spend some time on your posts - it's much nicer to look at. Anyway what you should go for is at least an AMD Sempron 64 as a processor with 512 MB memory. You should be able to get that for 400 pounds. Mr_Odwin's link is a pretty good PC.
bencallis Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Also consider this http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=14976688154&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=95739 Bare in mind it is just the base though.
