Can anyone recommend me a decent webcam?

I'm in need of a webcam, as my other half is heading off to start uni this weekend (and I'm very proud of her too!)

 

We've done some tests using my HTC One X, but that doesn't seem to work very well with Skype. Does anyone have any recommendations? I've not bought a webcam before, so I have no idea what to look for. One with a built-in mic is a must though.

We use these at work, video quality is great and microphone picks you up really easily

 

Logitech C270 HD Webcam - Black

 

There are newer/better models on there too but this one's great for the pricetag.

Widescreen camera with up to 720p recording at 30fps. Has a built in microphone and software with effects like big head and accessories (think dog ears and pirate hat)

 

Has very good auto focus and picture quality.

Apart from looking pretty it is actually a good webcam for the price. As you can imagine it's not going to give you crisp HD quality images but it's good enough for me. Never had any issues with it and I use Skype a lot.

I have this one, I've used it for a few videos for YouTube and they come out remarkably well.
