Fused King Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 I do not like the sound of that at all. The motion control bit anyway. That is the best thing about Skyward Sword! Gah. Damn everyone who couldn't swing the controller properly. Seriously, i think it would be a massive mistake to remove motion control from future Zeldas, i cant imagine playing it any other way. I suppose the problem with Wii U though is the number of options controller wise. If they go for motion control, they cant use the Wi U GamePad. If they do decide to commit 100% to the GamePad though, it better be for a good reason with some great innovative uses of that controller to make up for the loss of motion control. I could live with that. Makes you realise how showing a Zelda at E3 would have been ridiculously pre-mature. Yes, last year they showed a HD titbit, but they couldn't do that twice without people getting annoyed with the lack of concrete details. I could imagine (Babiez:laughing:) something awesome being done with the Pad if you put it next to the TV-screen, so that you'll have one small screen and one big one, but play the game entirely with Motion Plus. One could use the stand that guy and his non-specific action figure used. I do hope that is included in the box. What could also be neat is that certain areas can only be explored with Pad in hand.
Retro_Link Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 (edited) You can guarantee a Game Pad Zelda would have you controlling the Beetle (whathaveyou) with the screen in the same way as that Batman Batarang they showed... which to me isn't as good as just streering it with Motion+. You could use it to control a Zelda esque 'drone', like a hot air balloon/tingle dropping bombs on people, but again you could do that with the Beetle in Skyward Sword and it worked perfectly. I like the way they've implemented it into Lego City for scanning for badguys, but that's modern tech that doesn't really fit with Zelda. I'm struggling to think of what a Zelda Game Pad game could do that Motion Plus didn't in Skyward Sword; it's not a game like ZombiU where you can use it to show your third person surrounding and create fear. Maybe only some sort of Tingle/Four Swords Multiplayer modes? Of course there's always the inventory screen, but if it's a choice between having a HUD free game, and being able to swing my sword with the Motion+, then Motion+ would win that one. Beverage Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 For phuck sakes, how's this for visualisation?.. Excuse the wonky mousedoodles and mousewriting which I sped through on an bouncy bed while I was laying down with no mouse-mat of any kind. But to depart away from defending my art skills, I'd like to present to N-E, Nintendo and the world: The Wiiumote and the Wiiuchuck. *Does a serious Reggie face with fingertips touching like Mr.Burns/Reggie* It has the power buttton, the ABXY face buttons, a stick on the Wiiumote, the home button followed by the 12+- buttons with the speakers at the bottom. The WiiuSkwiindow offers a Wiiumote grip just like the uPad. You see the player communication lights right underneath the WiiuSkwiindow. Behind the Wiiumote are, intelligently placed, C2 and Z2 triggers/analogue triggers/whatever the hell you smartasses desire (I'm aware of the difference and appreciate what gameplay possibilities 'analogue triggers' provide!). Of course rumble, headphone jacks etc etc etc are in place and M+ only! In the other hand is the Wiiuchuck. Motionplus? Of course It has the stick, directional pad and the C1 & Z1 triggers. No cord linking the Wiiumote and the Wiiuchuck. What the phuck, guys?! Best of all three worlds; tradtional game pads, motion remote and screen. Best way to play Zelda or any game for that fact. This is now my dream controller and Nintendo please do this for your next console: FamuWii.
