dazzybee Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Okay, so how can this site offer network contracts for WAY cheaper than going directly to the networks?!?! http://www.mobiles.co.uk/ For the iPhone 4s you have to pay near £200 on the same contracts but free on this site. Sounds well dodgy to me?!
Shorty Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 It's not the only place doing it that cheap. http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/phone/Apple_iPhone_4S_16GB_Black/ They can pass down their cut to the customer for a small profit margin. Don't forget cashback sites if you're ordering a new contract
Cube Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Had a look around. They're owned by Best Buy Europe/Carphone Warehouse.
Mr-Paul Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Got my phone from them 18 months ago, got nothing bad to say about them. Always get cashback cheques quick enough. Also try buymobilephones.net, that's where my mum got hers.
dazzybee Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 Thanks a lot for all this guys. That's mad. So it's worth doing this rather than continuing with the actual network, ridiculous. Would the network match it if you tell them about this offer or would they probably not? Also, how does it work with regards to your mobile number and such even if it's the same provider.
Cube Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 You just need to get your PAC code from your current network (which they have to give to you by law).
dazzybee Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 So you still have to do that even though though you're moving from o2 to o2? Thought so. Bit of a pain but anything for a bargain Cheers
Shorty Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 No, you can't get a PAC and use it to stay with the same network. If you're already with O2, you could probably ring, say you want to cancel and that you have seen this deal, they'll probably sort it for you there and then. The best price/contract you're ever going to get is nearly always from a provider's retentions department after you say you want to leave.
Mr-Paul Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Or if you go ahead and order the new deal from elsewhere, once you receive it you can ring up O2 and ask them to cancel the old contract and transfer the number without needing a PAC code, because it is on the same network.
Cube Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Sorry, I misread that as "not with the same provider".
dazzybee Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 Thanks a lot again guys. Hopefully easily sorted.
