Rummy Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Basic question, one I'm sure you guys must have encountered. I tend to come across many a collection of gifs, and save them, but when it comes to look back at them I find myself getting rather annoyed! Windows preview/picture viewer thingy doesn't animate them(I could have sworn it did but apparently not) and it's rather annoying that they try to open in IE, it'd be nice if I had something that could roll through a folder of GIFs in a previous and next sort of fashion. I don't know if something exists(I imagine it does), or rather what's good if it does, does anyone have any recommendations?
MoogleViper Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 (edited) http://www.irfanview.com/ There may be better ones out there though. Edited October 16, 2011 by MoogleViper
Sméagol Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Any graphic application that can make them can also play them obviously. I use Gimp. If I need to test an animation outside the application or simply want to view a gif for some reason, I just use the (/ a) browser.
Rummy Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 Don't have any makers, looked into IrfranView and got it, seems to do the job! I'll reward you with this funny dog GIF
Mr_Odwin Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 In XP the Windows Picture And Fax Viewer shows animated GIFs? Has it regressed?
MoogleViper Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 In XP the Windows Picture And Fax Viewer shows animated GIFs? Has it regressed? Yeah they got rid of it (in Vista I think).
Rummy Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 In XP the Windows Picture And Fax Viewer shows animated GIFs? Has it regressed? Yeah as Moogle said(which I discovered while looking into this). No idea why, but that'd be why I thought it used to do it, was on XP before it probably just crumbled into the pile of crap things that vista did that I forgot.
