Deathjam
Too late, his major characteristic is Guardian. That can't be changed right? It's just the secondary one that can be changed? It's amazing how much difference good pawns can make. I was getting owned by hobgoblins and ogres, but since I leveled up a bit and switched pawns I've managed to kill 2 ogres in a row. It's felt like a struggle so far, but now I'm starting to feel like a badass. My own pawn is also starting to get a bit beefy, with stat numbers starting to soar. I chose to play a strider/ranger and have my pawn as a big bastard warrior. I also tend to hire a mage and a fighter to compliment my warrior. Seems pretty good so far. It can be changed if you visit the encampment which is between Cassardis and Gran Soren - where you fought the hydra. In the room where you first meet your own pawn, you can buy elixirs with rift crystals which when used, will change your pawns inclination. Changing inclination works like this: How to use three Elixirs to customize pawn inclination: Drink two of the same elixir consecutively to change the Pawn's primary inclination After primary inclination is set: drink one elixir to change the Pawn's secondary inclination How to customize pawn inclination using the Neutralizing Elixir: Use the Neutralizing Elixir Use the elixir players wish to have as their Main Pawn's primary inclination Use the elixir players wish to have as their Main Pawn's secondary inclination Note: Tried this & got reverse result - tested eleven times using potion for secondary first, then primary gives consistant result every time. ~~~ Different inclinations a pawn can have are: Scather: Enter battles with enemies as they appear.Medicant: Prioritize safety by healing your hero or removing their status ailments, using the 'Come' order during battle also helps. Mitigator: Bring down weak targets first. Challenger: Focus on long-range attackers and enemies with support abilities. Utilitarian: Use support skills and enchantments. Guardian: Use the 'Help' and 'Come' commands often, avoid using 'Go'. Nexus: Quickly heal your pawns and remove their status ailments. Pioneer: Use the 'Go' command when you're not in combat. Acquisitor: Pick up items. Great Source If you add someone to your PSN friends list, you can hire out their pawn for free, but try not to hire pawns out that are higher level than yourself as they will generally destroy everything too quickly and net you less experience because of the level difference. I only see one pawn from my friends list in the rift, so I'm guessing they're the only person who has the game. Their pawn is level 20, whereas I'm level 26. I tend to use pawns that match my level. I think I'll work on my pawns inclination then, since I do find he prioritizes me too much. Might go for scather, challenger or pioneer.

This game feels like it has potential although there's something I can't quite put my finger on at the moment that is making me feel a little unexcited by it all. I get that too. The gameplay is the best of any RPG I've played, but the story is lacking at the moment. I think it's because it's very hard to tell which missions are main ones and which are side missions, which makes the main story a little bit confusing. It's hard to get excited when the story is hard to follow/remember. I've found myself unlocking the next story mission and thinking "Oh that last mission was a story one. Wish I'd paid a bit more attention now". Luckily the gameplay more than makes up for it. Really can't emphasis how refreshing this game is compared to the rigid, awkward combat (Especially melee) of Skyrim etc. Feel free to add me on PSN. I think my pawn is level 28 or so, so it might help you if you get stuck.
Sheikah
Cool, will add you when I'm next on. Oh I remembered something that really bogged me down - the inventory system! So much to look at.
Tales
I was stuck for a long time on this game, pretty much since it was released on Plus. I didn't know how to defeat that oversized worm boss at the bottom of the large circular dungeon in the main city. I have tried again a few times since then but get defeated pretty quickly. Then a couple days ago I decide to see if I could flee from the boss and level up elsewhere before trying again. So I run all the way to the top only to find out that is what I was supposed to do all along?! Wish I had known that before.. Oh well at least I can continue. I like how there are spesific ways to defeat some enemies, like cutting of a lizard's tail or hitting a cyclops in the eye. Unsure how to defeat the two eyed cyclops(troll?) but mighty bend in the head(I'm an archer/thief, or strider as the game calls it) staggers it at least, occasionally even making it fall to the ground. Good game so far. Edited February 6, 2014 by Tales
Goafer
I beat the titular dragon, but I really can't be arsed with the rest of the story. There's some story after it, but the enemies get significantly harder and it's more annoying than fun. Moved on to Assassin's Creed 3 now so that I can finally play AC4 once I'm done. That's a shame as the game get's alot more interesting and you really start to uncover story secrets when you carry on past this point. It's also advisable to try out all classes as they are all fun. Sheikah
I really tried with this, but there was just something that felt very outdated (probably quest structuring). It's a shame since it had some potential in the combat. There were seemingly no interesting characters either. Dragon Age it is not, unfortunately. Yeah, its more about the combat and gameplay than the story really

The game only starts getting really good after you beat the dragon... and there's barely any story from that point on (thank god). Endgame / bitterback isle is the true Dragon's Dogma.
