Goafer Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Seeing as there was a bit of interest in the PSO2 thread, I thought I would start a thread for this. Anyone got/getting it? I'm hopefully getting it tomorrow. I'll post my details once I get it so I can play with people.
flameboy Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 hmmm I may do...I held off picking up the first cos this got announced...might have to read some reviews first.
Ike Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I will be at some point. Depends on whether I can be bothered to go to shops or they put it up on PSN first.
Debug Mode Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Got it, pretty amazing game, once I get to grips with the whole card thing online I'l post it here.
Goafer Posted September 19, 2010 Author Posted September 19, 2010 My card number is 60029272. Is that what people use to search for each other? It was on PSU IIRC.
Ike Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) My card number is 60029272. Is that what people use to search for each other? It was on PSU IIRC. Yeah, I think that's right. Bought the UMD version since I found it cheap, haven't played it yet though. I'll post my code later once I get a chance to play it. Edit: card number is 60029319. Can't find were you add people though. Edited September 19, 2010 by Ike
Ike Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Found out today you can access the Japanese DLC content which we still may or may not get. Download PSUDOWN.DAT from here. Create 2 folders, ULUS10529DL and ULES01439DL in /PSP/SAVEDATA on your memory card and copy the file into both. Of course the text is in Japanese, but apparently it's a good quest for EXP and items. Also here's a list of all the password items, they got hacked so they were released early: Password - Item 32091120 - Bullet Lancer (up to 50%) 53962481 - Maverick Rifle (up to 50%) 33286491 - Scouring Bubble 29888026 - Clarita Visas I (up to 50%) 30495153 - Toop Nasur (up to 50%) 11293398 - Puyo Pop Fists (up to 50%) 54186516 - Puyo Pop Fever Gun (up to 50%) 34819852 - Sonic Knuckles (up to 50%) 74612418 - Ogi's Head 34162313 - Special Pizza Slicer (up to 50%) 89747981 - Pizza Shack D. Goafer Posted October 9, 2010 Author Posted October 9, 2010 Just figured out how partner cards work in this. You have to be in a game with someone to send/receive partner cards. Bit of a shit way to do it really, I'd rather just be able to use the codes to find the players, rather than having to find the players first. Anyone up for a game some time? My online seems to be a bit more stable on it now.

Well that sucks, at least you can search game names, I suppose. Anyone up for a game some time? My online seems to be a bit more stable on it now. Sure, I'm only level 40 mind. Played the PSO Forest and Caves stages in story mode, very nostalgic.
Debug Mode Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Figured I'd bump this again just in case any one is interested in the upcoming expansion due to be released around Feb in Japan.. Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity Yeah, as the name suggests, it's the Portable 2 system and setting, but with Episode 2. All we presumably know for now is a new race comes in, the Duman, human's mutated with Seed based DNA. Here's the basic information from PSO-World back from the anouncement of the game quite a while ago: New Story Mode - There will be a brand new Story Mode that is set during the events of Phantasy Star Portable 2New Race - A new race called "Dumans" are being introduced. They are mutated humans that have an Infinity Blast special attack. Character Redesigns - Existing races will receive visual overhauls. Infinity Difficulty - A new difficulty that is higher than S-Rank. Character Rebirth - The level cap for Infinity will be 200. Once a character hits cap, a "Rebirth" option will appear. Your character level will be reduced 1, but your character will have improved stats. More PSO Monsters - Monsters from Phantasy Star Online such as the Garanz, Chaos Bringer, and Olga Flow will appear in the game. Visual Lobbies - The online lobby system originally seen in Phantasy Star Online will return. Screenshot Functionality - Players will have the ability to take in-game screenshots. Pressing Select will activate Screenshot mode. After that, a player can take a screenshot by pressing the Start button. It will also include Episode 1 apparently (PSPo2 story), so those who haven't picked it up yet can get this new one without much worry regarding the story. But the main reason why this game is going to be very important to Phantasy Star fans (I'm looking at you Goafer if you're reading) is the fact that this is very likely going to be the end of the Universe story what with PSO2 coming (we'l probably see Universe 2 in about 10 years heh). AND, If you check out the new trailer, you shall see some thing very peculiar and familiar at the end if you're familiar with previous Phantasy Star games.. And those who aren't familiar with most of the Phantasy Star story line and want to enjoy it when they play it, don't read my spoiler box, speculative stuff. Presuming you watched the trailer, the remains of one of the Pioneer ships from Phantasy Star Online is present, which is mind blowing shit considering Universe was always thought to be totally separate. Were the Humans who evacuated from Coral in the PSO story line the Ancients? I had always speculated that Phantasy Star Online was a prequel to the original series considering how even in PSI a successful Human colony existed in the Algo star system, yet a planet named Ragol was never present. The space ship that transported the willing Humans to colonise Palma was a lot more advance that Pioneer 2 (the only ship we've seen out of the 3 we have known to leave Earth). So if that speculation is right, the chronological order of the games would be: Phantasy Star Online Ep 1 Phantasy Star Online Ep 2 Phantasy Star Online Ep 4 Phantasy Star Online Ep 3* Phantasy Star Phantasy Star II Phantasy Star IV Phantasy Star III* (Coincidence?) Universe Portable 2 Portable 2i So looking at the nature of the games, the original Humans in the Ragol mission may have become the Ancients we hear about in Universe. But I think it's more likely to be those on Algo, especially those in IV (Any one remember Seed in IV? I doubt it's coincidence). Now think a bit deeper. If Online was indeed the first title chronologically, Episode 2 told us the fate of Flowen and the scientist who experimented on him. They both mutated due to the D-Cell's from the Dark creatures. Similarity to the Seed? What if D-Cell and Seed are the same thing? Does the name Duman for the new class hint at this? So to summarise this damn long post if any ones bothered to read it, Portable 2 Infinity could be the megaton of Phantasy Star. It could literally wrap all of the series together. This is why I'm so damn excited.
Goafer Posted December 20, 2010 Author Posted December 20, 2010 I still haven't completed the regular Portable 2. I'm a terrible person.
Ike Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Whoa. Was that Olga Flow? Excitement! I knew they were adding more PSO stuff into PSP2i, but I never expected a Pioneer ship to make an appearance It doesn't look like Pioneer 2 though, so it's either P1 or a new P3 Makes me a whole load more excited for PSO2. I haven't beat PSP2 yet either :P
Debug Mode Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I've beat it twice with the same character to get the different endings, but I've made a new character recently that just seems to own the story line. Just gotta keep being nice to Emilia to get the perfect ending =\ Episode 3 if any of you have played it ended with Pioneer 2 finally settling on Ragol if I remember right (it may have been final preparations or finally landing, can't remember). We have only seen Pioneer 2 out of the 3 known ships (1 was never seen and presumably destroyed by the blast, 3 was confirmed to have left Coral in Episode 2 to an undisclosed location). Presuming they all look alike, it may not be Pioneer 2. If they aren't alike, then the ruins are Pioneer 2. It's missing parts, but the main cockpit (Principle Tyrell's chambers in Ep 1 & 4) are at the front with the two covers. Basically compare my Avatar to the shape of the ship AND the giant block that lights up with the exact same pattern. My bets are on Pioneer 1. We never saw it, we have no idea where it even landed. BUT, it may have been landed near the island set in Ep2. Heathcliff Flowen, army commander of Pioneer 1 also found out about Dark Falz and contracted the Parasetic Gene Flow virus (D-Cell) and managed to escape to Gal Da Vaal island. The doctor merged the cells that eventually led Flowen to his death with the Pioneer 1 super computer in his deep sea lab, Olga. Hence the creation of Olga Flow. And his appearance in PSPo2i may wrap up that the Seed are evolved D-Cell life forms and the Online story may be canonical in the Universe plot via the Coral citizens being the ancients or dimensional rift (Sakai also said he wanted to explain why PSO monsters exist in the Universe series, so this may just be the game for it).
Ike Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Japanese Infinity demo is out, it's the big red button on the left. Download it and create a new folder in PSP games folder called "NPJH90157" and copy the files in there.
