skarmachild Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Yo all, Our company (http://curiosity.mashedltd.com) are working on our first proper game. It will be freeware mind. It is based of the Advance Wars series for the GBA/DS. 3 names im considering are: Advanced Tactics, Codename: Advance Tactics and Advance Tactics: Operation Lockdown (the storys related to a lock-down). Primarily it will be an multiplayer turn based strategy, playable on a single PC, and online (LAN play is being considered, it's providing a challenge). The first version we will have out will only be Multiplayer against humans (online/offline) since AI gets tricky to code, we will work from there and try to incorporate a single player mode. We are also going for Advance Wars style graphics, heres a few examples of a put-together map screenie: http://photobucket.com/albums/v518/skarmachild/?action=view¤t=level2.gif http://photobucket.com/albums/v518/skarmachild/?action=view¤t=level1.gif ------------------------------------ As you can see alot like Advance Wars, but this is free so don't complain Smile. We are looking for 2D Artists, some to make sprites, and some to make menus and the likes. Either or is nice (both is better). We are also looking for secondary programmers, as we could program this as it stands, but it would take a heck of a long time with just 1 person programming. We also don't want to rip the graphics as we kinda want out own feel to it, we really need a 2D artist to make these better graphics - since they ain't amazing right now. So if you want to help out (totally volunaterly, but freeware and name will be mentioned in credits (I just want to see how popular this gets, sequel maybe Wink)), please PM me here, post here, contact my email: [email protected] (thats for MSN too) or AIM: skarmachild1. Peace out folks -Ben J
Mr_Odwin Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 [Moved] This seems to be more suited to the tech board.
skarmachild Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 We will also have implemented Online Mutliplayer mode - of course Beta testers are useful Heres the team so far: 3 Programmers 5 Artists 1 Storyboard 0 Sound FX/Music Dudes 1 Concept Artist We might be able to port the project to GBA as we have the skills, but we need a few more programmers capable of the same thing to speed up the process.
skarmachild Posted December 6, 2005 Author Posted December 6, 2005 Come on people, anyone want to do some pixel art? I don't want to see this project go downhill!
Sarka Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 I would love to help with the programming, but the most I've done is a rock paper scissors game. I'll look out for your future projects though.
Calza Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 I would like to help to but all i've ever done is really basica games and and i'm crap at drawing, but if theres a pencil pusher job you know where to look
skarmachild Posted December 6, 2005 Author Posted December 6, 2005 Well, im sure anyone can do pixel art, but its very small 30x30 Im working on some at the moment until we get the proper people! Anyone good at music or anything else then (one thing we are lacking is music). AshMat Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Hmm, tell yoo what, i used to be a dab hand in Isometric Pixel Art a while ago. I'll see if i can make a 2d pixel art character and get it psoted, here's some of my IPO from way back: Sorta basic, thats the best i could find on my pc that was still there. EDIT: Here's my best and only other peice of 2d artwork. My name on deviant art used to be api, it's taken up by someone else now. EDIT: Crap really wasnt it, if you ever want to see it here's the link but it isnt what your looking for at all really. Im currently owrking in CorelDRAW and soon hope to create a similar kind of character. http://tinypic.com/ibkmci.gif
