flameboy Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Was thinking somebody else might have posted this. Alien Breed was an awesome birdeye view shooter that was heavily influenced by the Alien series of films. Not quite sure how they got away with it to be honest, this is the boxart; Here's the press release, no details yet on formats but think we can expect PSN and XBLA Team17 returns to it's roots with a stunning remake of Alien Breed. Team17 are absolutely delighted to formally confirm the return of one of it’s most cherished properties in ALIEN BREED EVOLUTION. The Unreal3 powered next-gen title, part of Team17’s quality, independent digital line-up is a drop-dead gorgeous “retro-modern†remake of the game that helped Team17 burst onto the Amiga scene 18years ago. Featuring an action packed, tense single player adventure and an absolute blast of a co-op game, Alien Breed Evolution helps raise the production bar on download-only titles and underlines Team17’s re-energised momentum since deciding to become an independent publisher in the digital distribution era. Video footage, more shots, details and platform confirmations will be forthcoming later in the summer. Team17 can be reached at '[email protected]'. About Team17: Team17 are an independent developer/digital-publisher based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire who are now in their 19th year. Team17 IP includes the WormsTM series, Alien Breed, Superfrog and others. At time going to press, Team17 have two titles in the Xbox LIVE Arcade weekly sales top 10, including top seller Worms 2 Armageddon. About Alien Breed: The original title was released in 1991, the first of a series of Amiga games that required 1Mb of RAM to play. The title was a great success and underpinned success for both Team17 and the Alien Breed name, which returned for several sequels in the early 90's. Alien Breed Special Edition in 1992, released at a budget price point, spent 33 weeks at the No.1 UK budget chart position. I used to have Alien Breed Special Edition on the Amiga and it was incredible, please tell me I'm not the only person who loved this game! Orginal game screenshots; There was also sequel which I also owned, added more gameplay elements but wasn't as good in my opinion;
Guest Captain Falcon Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 You've... you've... You've stolen their image! For some reason, as soon as I saw the pics, I assumed it was something to do with SEGA's Alien Syndrome games. Then I read the text and still wasn't able to distinguish it.
