MoogleViper Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 (edited) Both of my wii remotes will not respond at all. No matter what buttons I press nothing happens. The LEDs don't flash. I've tried replacing the batteries and still nothing. Has anybody else had this problem? How can I fix it? Edited May 10, 2009 by MoogleViper
david.dakota Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 (edited) Do the LED's flash just once when you press any button? If so, I've had this problem before, i'd just leave them and, by magic, they'd be fine. Interestingly, since earlier firmware updates the problem's been resolved. Edited May 10, 2009 by david.dakota

Nothing happens. Have you tried re-synching them? I can't re-sync them as the remotes don't respond at all.
tapedeck Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Seriously...Give them a whack on a solid object. This happened to mine once and I looked for some advice on the issue. I actually found this advice on Nintendo's own customer service website. Give it a try. Just don't whack them too hard!
MoogleViper Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 I've tried that. On my hand and on my desk. Didn't work. I'm thinking of taking them apart but don't have a tri wing screwdriver. Anyone know where I can get one on the high street cheapish? i.e. not on the internet.
david.dakota Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I'm thinking of taking them apart but don't have a tri wing screwdriver. You're thinking of doing what? Just call the service centre tomorrow.
OVERLORD Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Copied from another forum so thank OP if this resolves your problem but it reminds me of problem I had when I imported a Wiimote from Dealextreme. The manual is somewhat misleading when it says hold the sync button down for 15 secs, when actually after I spoke to a Nintendo service guy, he said press it once and then once on the remote. They now all work perfectly. Anybody who has the same problem, take note.
MoogleViper Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 Yes but when you press the sync button on the remote the lights should flash. Mine don't.
Jimbob Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Sounds like a loose connection to me between the batteries and the rest of the Wii-mote.
MoogleViper Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 That's what I was thinking which is why I wanted to take them apart.
Emasher Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Just call Nintendo's Tech support, they aren't the usual outsourced bullshit, they're actually quite good.
Blue_Ninja0 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 NO NO NO! Don't hit them! Listen to me. This happened to me. Removing the batteries for a few moments won't solve it. Remove the batteries and leave the controllers like that for a few hours, then put the batteries back in and see if they flash now. It worked for me.
