Dan_Dare Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 hoy chaps. just wondering, what's the best way to make utorrent a bit friendlier to my connection? atm, I'm finding it really eats bandwidth so that, while my torrents run really well (nearly 400kbps just now!) my browser is sluggish, and sometimes even msn takes a blow. Any tips?
Mr_Odwin Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I find with torrents it's the uploading that kills my connection. Try taking a few kb off your max upload speed.
Sheikah Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 When download speeds get really high there's always an impact on browsing speed for me. I often cap the upload but even on torrents where I'm uploading nothing at all and downloading like crazy I get sluggish browsing.
Guest Jordan Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I just use x/128kbps, upload never goes above 11kbps. So you're still sharing, but your own speeds will be much better.
Sanchez Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 You upload cap should be about 80% of your total upload speed. If that isn't it I know a couple other solutions to your would be problem.
