conzer16 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I need a little bit of help, so I was hoping the NE community could provide it I will be going to New Zealand in mid February to study. What I need, is the cheapest one way airline ticket to Christchurch. It's damn hard to find one less than about €750. I really need it to be cheaper than that!!! I have tried the following websites: http://www.trailfinders.ie http://www.usit.ie http://www.goforless.ie http://www.expedia.co.uk http://www.ebookers.ie http://www.travelocity.com http://www.ba.com http://www.airnewzealand.com http://www.singaporeairlines.com http://www.qantas.com http://www.opodo.com Can anyone offer me any alternatives that I could check out?
Shorty Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Hmm to get great flight prices you need to book really early or really late. You might find all the best prices late January.

I'm going to book as early as I possibly can - leaving the booking till late January isn't an option as my visa has to be sorted and specific dates of entry are needed and the uni needs to know for administrations purposes
Shorty Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Ah right, have you tried teletext? Or cheap flight sites like... well anything you can find here http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=cheap+uk+flights&btnG=Search
Charlie Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Could you try flying to somewhere else first (Australia?) which might be a little bit cheaper and then getting a flight from Australia to New Zealand?
UK Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I know this isn't entirely relevant, but NZ is beautiful. Personally, I prefer the north island, as it holds Auckland and the bulk of the population.

I'm looking at every alternative! It's tough to find flights direct to Christchurch, but with the distances involved I'd really only be adding another airport ie another stop if I fly to Australia. In most cases it seems I need to go Dublin > London > Sydney > Christchurch anyway, interchanging Frankfurt/Amsterdam with London and Hong Kong/Singapore/Los Angeles with Sydney.
somme Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 It's gonna be tricky getting a trick flight then considering it's peak time.
Bluejay Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I know we paid £700 a ticket for a flight in December 2001. And we booked pretty damn early. Totally worth it though. Greatest place in the world.
