Mr.X Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Alot of people want every game on wii to have waggle. But do they all really need it thoughts?
Slaggis Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Well know they don't need it, but that's the whole point of the Wii remote in the first place. A new wau of playing, doing movements you would in real life - in the game.
mcj metroid Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 No every game should not have waggle. Nobody here will say yes. If the game doesn't need it then don't use it.. the game can still be good obviously.
Niji Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 There are plenty games for the Wii that don't use waggle, such hits such as: -Metroid Prime -The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker -Super Smash Bros Melee -Super Mario Sunshine -F Zero GX And many many more!
Cube Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 There are plenty games for the Wii that don't use waggle, such hits such as: -Metroid Prime -The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker -F Zero GX And many many more! I would re-purchase all of those should a Wii Edition be made of them. I see no reason not to include "waggle" or pointer controls..
steggy Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I think Mario Strikers showed that waggle should only be used when needed.
welsh_gamer Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I think Mario Strikers showed that waggle should only be used when needed. True. Having a control scheme were 75% of it is button based and the other 25% is waggle works well. Some FPS's on the Wii have used waggle controls a bit too much, whereas a simple push of a button could do the action required.
Tellyn Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Linked to our discussion last night Mr. X? To be honest, when the Wii Remote was first unveiled and all the developers said they had groundbreaking ideas, I actually expected full motion controls, like actually having to move your hand in the same way as you would as, for example, opening a door. Not a shake or a swift movement of the Remote to trigger something ingame. Granted not all games would work this way, but Zack and Wiki is the only game to do this.

Isn't the tomb raider remake doing the same sort of movements aswell?
Hellfire Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I honestly can't understand the waggle hate. What's the difference between waggling the remote and pressing a button, except that wagglling is a little more involving?
Tellyn Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 They're not using the Wii Remote to it's full potential, it's a cheap technique used in all these shitty movie tie-ins and casual rubbish from third parties.
dannbrownn Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I think that wii games should use the best control scheme available, waggle or not.

Slaggis Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Am i missing something? He's saying there is plenty of games that can be played on the Wii that don't use waggle, i.e gamecube games, and lots of classic ones at that.
