UziT Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Sorry had to make a new thread because Mac thread is fookin locked. The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/System.kext/PlugIns/Mach6.0.kext“ was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update. wtf is this?
Emasher Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Take it to your local genius bar. I think it was inappropriate to lock the mac thread. The last time there was a problem in the mac thread they just made a new thread and now this. The only way that the bickering in the mac thread could actually end is if motion is banned from it. Besides the one incident with chuck he is the only one who starts arguments in it. Heck he probably wouldn't even use the thread if there was a stand alone iPod thread. I'm sorry but that just had to be said.
motion Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Oh **** right off Emasher, grow up for a change. I was making a point about the ipod and Jasper told me that I'm boring. Everyone was agreeing with me, yet he seemed to think he had a divine right to be right, and everyone else is wrong. Once again you tell mods how to do their job when you seem to know F all about how to run a forum. (sorry to drag this off topic, but couldn't not comment on Emasher's "post") - RIGHT, moving on so we can get back to the point of this topic?
UziT Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 It gets stuck on the Loading Tiger X OS screen...I rebooted several times and waited 5+ minutes but still no luck getting past this screen. Its strange because the loading bar will complete but will not continue past it.

Sorr I can't be much help, but I'm not that "in the know" about macs. Mabe you should restore it? (can that be done on a mac?) Or you could always email apple? Edit: can't you boot from the origonal CD or something? Oh and Emasher, shut the hell up will you? Your boring people. There was no need to mention that in this thread.

Thanks dude, I have the apple cd in there now....no luck...geting really pissed off now!
Slaggis Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Thanks dude, I have the apple cd in there now....no luck...geting really pissed off now! So is there now way of being able to boot from the Install CD? Or is is just not working? If you can you might be able to repair the problem. If nothing works I'd leave it and try it again tomorrow, it might start working again.

Thats what I wana know, well I've jsut left it now, check tomorrow morning see what happens then take it down the apple store to the genius bar!
That Guy Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 You should be able to reinstall Mac OS X, that should reinstall the entire OS whilst leaving everything like docs and applications where they are. Not sure if you need to press one of the keys to get it to boot straight from cd. If that doesn't work then as has been mentioned take it to the genius bar. And I agree with Motion, he was spamming the other thread, merely saying things he doesn't like about an OS. I get annoyed by idiots talking shit about Macs but if someones just making a fair argument then wheres the problem?
UziT Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 thanks man, shall i archive and install? or erase and install?

I get annoyed by idiots talking shit about Macs but if someones just making a fair argument then wheres the problem? Sorry I'm confused by your post... do you agree with my point of view? And do you think I was spamming?
UziT Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 Would you stop guys please for the love of god! :p
That Guy Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 thanks man, shall i archive and install? or erase and install? Archive and install, this will create a new folder with the previous install of OS X in, and then install the OS again leaving your applications, music, documents etc. alone, whereas Erase and install will format your drive. Sorry I'm confused by your post... do you agree with my point of view? And do you think I was spamming? Lol, I meant to say 'Wasn't spamming' but mistyped it. I was saying that you were just contributing to discussion, which should be allowed in any thread.
That Guy Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 DONE! thank you all for your help! No problem. : peace:

(sorry to drag this off topic, but couldn't not comment on Emasher's "post") - RIGHT, moving on so we can get back to the point of this topic? My point is why should we all have to suffer because of so kid who doesn't even own a Mac that keeps coming on the Mac thread and with full intention of it starting trouble. Really the problems would all be over if you were banned from the thread. Since that isn't my place thought i guess we're all going to have to wait until the next time you get the thread locked on us and lose it for another 24 hours.
motion Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I come into the Mac thread with the intention to cause trouble?? Are you retarded or something? I come in to post news about new apple products like ipods etc... Grow a pair of balls and realise that mild disagreements are going to happen. Why the hell should I be banned from the thread??

I totally agree with you. Obviously you've said things that others haven't agreed with, me included, but that's no reason for you to be banned from a thread. Surely that is the point of a forum, everyone to contribute to a discussion?
KKOB Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Archive and install, this will create a new folder with the previous install of OS X in, and then install the OS again leaving your applications, music, documents etc. alone, whereas Erase and install will format your drive. <3 OS X. Up yours vista! *angel*
Sanchez Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 <3 OS X. Up yours vista! *angel* Vista does this as well.
motion Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Never let facts get in the way of a good mac-wank
KKOB Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Vista does this as well. YAY! Handy since it gets so bogged down with malware and the ilk.
Guest Jordan Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Oh fucks sake... shut up you lot. UziT had a problem, it was solved. No other flaming and shit was needed.
Caris Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 YAY! Handy since it gets so bogged down with malware and the ilk. This is why the Mac thread get's locked.
