Happenstance Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Thankfully I never read it, I tend to wait for the Ultimates to come out in TPB so I can read them all at once. Oh yeah, did you ever watch any episodes of that Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon I mentioned a while ago?
ReZourceman Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I would honestly skip Ultimates 3. It sours it. Yeah I did! I went a friends house about a month ago and me and three others just had a total nerd fest, we played Ultimate Alliance, and watched all of Spectacular, and then watched about four or so episodes of X-Men. I was slightly drunk, so it didn't entirely sink in, but I am actually really liking it! Thought the first episode was a bit meh, but the others really picked up! I need to catch up on it.
Happenstance Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I need to catch up on it aswell, I was enjoying it but only got a few episodes in before I started to forget to get them everyweek
Paj! Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Is it on Youtube? Cause I'll watch it then (All of Spectacular is/was on Youtube).
ReZourceman Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 We didn't watch it on YouTube, assumably because it wasn't on it, but I'm not sure. (Cos we watched everything we could, ie Spidey on YT)
Happenstance Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Ive only managed to find the trailer on youtube
Paj! Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Ok. Thanks anyway. I'm not too keen on Wolvey anyway, dunno how I feel about him being the main character. He hardly holds the team together.
Happenstance Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I wasnt happy about it when I first heard, hes overused as it is. But I think it works ok in this series, it makes sense I think that he is the one to step up with what happens at the beginning.
Happenstance Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Just finished reading Uncanny X-Men #500-503 and I really enjoyed them. I pretty much last read the X-Men during the big Shi'ar arc but that was when I dropped all comics so its nice to come back into this now and enjoy it. Them moving to San Fransisco seems like a good move, should get some good storys away from New York. Only complaint would be Lands art, now that I know he traces all his stuff its become all the more obvious.
ReZourceman Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 A) Yeah I've been loving Uncanny recently. Astonishing has been shit since Whedon left, but of course it has been. B) Land traces? Wow. I never really liked it anyway tbh. Everyone smiling every other panel. Its just not comicy anyway.
Happenstance Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Yeah he does, apparently he uses porn stars or poses from movie posters for his comics. Heres a thread with people trying to spot the likenesses: http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=134443&page=1 Heres some of the examples from it:
ReZourceman Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Oh this is fucking outraegous. Hes traced other artists. I've lost the little respect I had for him.
Happenstance Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I know its amazing isnt it, its something I just hadnt noticed at all until I read it on a forum
ReZourceman Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 That actually makes me furious considering how many uber-talented people there are, like even on Deviant Art and this fraud gets to land flagship titles. Fuck that.
ReZourceman Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Shop didn't get Invincible and Walking Dead shipped to them. Fucking.....just. Yeah. Sigh, basically. Whats that site you buy from Happenz? I ain't going at least another week without them. I'll read Ultimatum in a bit also.
Happenstance Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I get mine from http://www.reedcomics.com but for some reason they dont sell Invincible! I went into my comic shop today and couldnt find it either. I dont actually own any Invincible comics as I started reading them in the trades then when I decided to collect it I found its actually really hard to find, at least at the places I use.
Happenstance Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Sorry I couldnt help. Let me know what you think of Ultimatum when you've finished reading it
ReZourceman Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Sorry I couldnt help. Let me know what you think of Ultimatum when you've finished reading it Oh no worries dude! You were helpful, you got that site address. Just ebay seems more suitable. Ill report back. :awesome:
ReZourceman Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Ultimatum #1 Seemed pretty alright. Not quite sure how Magneto is doing all that, but yeah, good. I really like the idea of like the FF or at least most, and X-Men again most dieing or at least no longer existing, or however it will turn out. Spidey seemed to be being a little...inappropriately nice to Kitty, but then I never wanted them to break up anyway. In fact...fuck it just kill off MJ. Yeah suprisingly alright. 7.4/10 Amazing Spider-Man #576 Really really enjoyed this storyline. Subtly anti-unsocial occurances as opposed to being shoved down throat, and the grittyness, realism and awesome art. Loving it. Hammerhead rocks. 8.6/10 Batman Cacophony #1 Kevin Smiths Batman story that has flown under my radar. Very good, just good stuff generally. Intruiging new character too. 8.3/10 Uncanny X-Men #504 Really really loving it. And Dodson! Love Dodsons artwork. Its good to see a new arc ramping up, and finally some further ramifications from Messiach Complex that they promised a year ago. Awesome stuff, the X-Men are good again. 8.6/10
ReZourceman Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 *LLLLAAAAAAAA* Invincible #55 Ahhhemmmgeeee. The breakout issue. God how awesome. Return of Battle Beast was wicked. Freaking the double punch head splat must be the coolest thing in a comic in ageesss. I made an expression out loud and my friend at work did (I watched him read it lol) and amazing. Then the Viltrumite big reveal. That'll be a fucking amazing storyline then. Also side boob....wheeee. Lol. 9.5/10
Happenstance Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Did you end up getting it from ebay then?
Happenstance Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Just read Invincible #55, great issue. Ive been waiting to get back to Allan and Omni Man. The Viltrumite reveal was pretty cool, I had been wondering how this rebellion against them would ever work. I look forward now to finding out why there arent many of them left. From what wever seen of Nolan he doesnt have any problems pro-creating. Oh and I still love Invincible and Eve together, brilliant match. Like the Peter Parker and Mary Jane of this universe (except hopefully a totally out of character deal with the devil wont take them away from each other!)
