I was too quick off the mark in my desire for a component cable, and now I pay the price: the things crapping up on me. It's resulting in a bunch of flickering, mostly black, dots on the screen and when playing strikers or a similarly colorful game it's bleedin' horrible :(

Anybody else got a probelm akin to mines, or could it possible be a bunch of dead pixels on my screen (unlikely as the dots are sporadic, appearing all over the screen, and flicker). I got the cable in Jan, but I doubt have the box or the recept, but I think it might be under game's 1 year warranty er sumthing, so what's the chances they'll allow me to exchange it? Urgent advice needed, as it's seriously busting my balls :shakehead

It is under a one year warranty but you'd either need to find a really laxed sales assistant or find your receipt (box isn't important).

 

You pay by card or use a reward card? Because with those you can track your purchases back.

Yeah just dig out the statement for the component cable. Go on a quiet day (because they'll have to ring up head office to verify that the £20 you spent was on the component cable) and be polite. Best you'll get is an exchange though sans 'proper' receipt.

And with no box you'll only be able to exchange it for another Game cable. They'll just take the new one out of the box and stick your broken one in that so they can send it back to head office.

 

I have the same cable, with no box or reciept either so no idea what i'd do if mine broke. I'd probably cut my losses and go for an official one as they're a lot easier to get hold of now.

Wait, question for Ashley; I bought it from game and with a little looking, I should be able to find the receipt. Should I try taking it back to them?

I have them and to GAME's credit, they have worked perfectly.:smile:

If you find a receipt they can do a refund but it depends on who serves you whether they will without a box. Depends what mood they're in really.

Ya, I have the box and I'm on quite good terms with the store manager: he was also the one who served me on release day and I had a little talk with him so :)

You may be on good terms but just a little warning. He could be friendly towards you because he is paid to. But I dunno the whole sitch obviously. Good luck.

He's ginger: of course he's lurvely.

 

Anywho, can't find the receipt for the wii but I've got the box and I used my card to pay for it and what-not. I'll be in town tomorrow so I'll just check be forehand in store to see if they'll be able to do anything.

 

Yew make game out to be so seedy :heh:
