Sam & Max are coming to consoles, whether in the form of a boxed game, episodic online releases or a combination of the two.

Telltale Games has been hiring staff to start production and they've publicly stated behind-the-scenes talks are happening. It's more a matter of when, now, and the studio recently chatted about the process with Shacknews.

Telltale CEO Dan Connors says Wii and Xbox 360 are their primary focus right now, both in regards to their online services and retail releases. "We're definitely talking to them about it. They talk to a lot of people, so getting their attention is a bit of a challenge, but it's always nice whenever there's an article going across the headlines that people want more Sam & Max," said Connors. "There's also a lot of interest in the episodic thing, and Sam & Max has gotten a lot of interest from the critics, so that helps too.

That doesn't mean PlayStation 3 is being left in the cold, however, as Connors states earlier in the interview he hopes to eventually be on all three consoles. "We want to open as much distribution as possible and reach as many people as possible," he says.

Shack: Much ado has been made of your job solicitations for Wii and Xbox 360 programmers. What can you say about your plans there?

Dan Connors: Well, we're hoping to get on to both consoles, with Live Arcade and Virtual Console--I'm sorry, on all three consoles! But we're starting with Wii and Xbox, on both of their online services and retail as well.

Should be good, I've been looking for a truly great adventure game ever since I played the first 2 monkey island games and Hit the road years ago, Wii is their natural home.

great news if it comes off, but again the small flash memory will be a hindrance here, likely meaning you would have to delete one before you download the next if theres any chance of them fitting...

The first Sam & Max Episode was only around 90 MB I think.

Good news to see them coming to Wii, they could work really well with the Wiimote :yay:

uhm, I'm subsribed and every episode download is indeed around 80 MB, but this is a severly compressed files and unzips into a 220 to 260 MB folder. If they can do this, great for Wii, but they'll have their work cut out.

Ah just put it on a disc already!

I was planning on buying these after the season was released on CD, but if they're coming to the wii, then awesome!
