AshMat Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 So i just got my 360 as you may know. And i can't get ther bugger online. My plan was to use this wireless router i got off my dad, to plug the 360 into to get internet connection. But i can't get the router installed, so really i'm asking for router help right now. I get all the way through the installation process, all lights are on, etc. Then i put in the ISP login info. I got the BT disk and it has the login info in, so i added that, it didn't work. Got to 100% and said "PPP Cannot connect" or something along those lines. I tried it with a different email that was there. Nothing, different password. Same. Any ideas? (The router is plugged into an ethernet port in my pc if that helps).
Guest Stefkov Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Is your pc the main computer? I couldnt install the router I bought onto my computer, it had to be the really old one that it had to be installed on. Do you have more than 1 pc?
Charlie Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 It shouldn't make a difference which computer you have as you're not really setting up anything on the computer but the router itself. When I was setting mine up I had to phone up my ISP to get the router settings. You might be able to find the settings on the internet for yours phone.
AshMat Posted March 11, 2007 Author Posted March 11, 2007 OK, scratch the entire router thing. I'm doing it through ICS now, followed the instructions exactly from the xbox site. The PC says the local area conenction is connected (the xbox one). So i run the connection test. IP address bit fails.
AshMat Posted March 11, 2007 Author Posted March 11, 2007 Update, little bit further. Found some manual IP addres, and other things to enter. So it confirms IP address. Now it fails DNS, i tried it with Auto and Manual DNS things. Still nothing. Do i need to find my DNS server or something? EDIT: I'M LIVE NOW!!!1! Found BT's DNS server, entered that, done, i'm on live. Thanks for the help guys.
DanielTimothy Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 He wanted to solve problems... It wouldn't be a tech thread without someone saying it.
