Shorty
I've used AVI2DVD in the past to make avi into dvd files, takes a long time though and you need an encoder installed, TMPGEnc is a free one. The latest Nero can do it too I think, but obviously not freeware.... I don't know of any decent freeware dvd burners though, although Cheetah is popular shareware and you can just use the trial version. Doom9 has good guides for avi to dvd conversion. Odwin also has a program for putting AVI onto DVD, but I haven't tried it. Check that out here.
Mr_Odwin
Use mine, it's great: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=106677 http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=FAVC It's called FAVC - A Free AVI Video Converter (But it also does asf, wmv and mov.) Try it Shorty! FAVC includes a very good dvd burner in the package (ImgBurn - from the author of DVD Decrypter). The major (temporary) downfall is that it doesn't do menus yet - but I'll get there eventually.

Tom
i use software by a company called imtoo. Its really idiot proof. It literally couldnt be easier to use. The dvd ripper is free, and you have to pay a bit for the avi-dvd software, but its wqell worth it imo
