Shorty
You should only have to patch the game to get it to work in XP, check here: http://www.uk.atari.com/index.php?pg=product&id=
Guest Jordan
RCT1 was a DOS game? Jeeeeeze... Doesn't that one make anyone else feel incredibly old?
Bogbas
RCT1 was a DOS game? Jeeeeeze...Doesn't that one make anyone else feel incredibly old? Nah, I played my nes during the DOS era. And I have never played any tycoon games.
McPhee
RCT1 wasnt a DOS game, it was released in 1999. It runs under Windows 98 or, with a patch, XP
Twozzok
could you not run it in compatibility mode?
triforcemario
Either get the patch, or get RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, which is more or less the same as the first, except it has more rides, etc... And I believe it's compatible withall of RCT1's scenarios and ride. Btw, if you do wanna get RCT2, you can now pick it up with it's 2 expansion packs for around 20€ (10 Quid, more or less). triforcemario
It's not a DOS game, it's a Windows game, but it doesn't work in 2000 or XP without a patch.

RoadKill
RCT1 was a DOS game? Jeeeeeze...Doesn't that one make anyone else feel incredibly old? No because RollerCoaster Tycoon was not a DOS game
Rob-Fox
RCT1 is not a DOS game, its a Windows game. You can get to work by right click on shortcut icon, properties, click compatibility, set the compatibility mode to Windows 95 or Windows 98/Windows ME and then run the game. I have the game myself and it does work when you do this.
