flameboy Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 You need dosbox Read the tutorials on how to get the cd drive working etc. ok cheers will give it a look.
Shorty Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 You should only have to patch the game to get it to work in XP, check here: http://www.uk.atari.com/index.php?pg=product&id=137
Guest Jordan Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 RCT1 was a DOS game? Jeeeeeze... Doesn't that one make anyone else feel incredibly old?
Bogbas Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 RCT1 was a DOS game? Jeeeeeze...Doesn't that one make anyone else feel incredibly old? Nah, I played my nes during the DOS era. And I have never played any tycoon games.
McPhee Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 RCT1 wasnt a DOS game, it was released in 1999. It runs under Windows 98 or, with a patch, XP
triforcemario Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Either get the patch, or get RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, which is more or less the same as the first, except it has more rides, etc... And I believe it's compatible withall of RCT1's scenarios and ride. Btw, if you do wanna get RCT2, you can now pick it up with it's 2 expansion packs for around 20€ (10 Quid, more or less).
solitanze Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 RCT a DOS game? My version that I still own is for Windows and worked perfectly fine...
triforcemario Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 It's not a DOS game, it's a Windows game, but it doesn't work in 2000 or XP without a patch.
flameboy Posted January 12, 2007 Author Posted January 12, 2007 yeah it didn't work in that dos box thing. didn't think it was a dos game myself but didn't know how to get it to run, got it sorted with batch though cheers guys..
RoadKill Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 RCT1 was a DOS game? Jeeeeeze...Doesn't that one make anyone else feel incredibly old? No because RollerCoaster Tycoon was not a DOS game
Rob-Fox Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 RCT1 is not a DOS game, its a Windows game. You can get to work by right click on shortcut icon, properties, click compatibility, set the compatibility mode to Windows 95 or Windows 98/Windows ME and then run the game. I have the game myself and it does work when you do this.
