Platty Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 If you dont know who The Good, The Bad and The Queen are then you should know them!! They are Damon Albarns new band and are amazing. Anyway as some of you may know I managed to go to their secret myspace gig last week... only 300 of us !!! The place where it took place was amazing. A little old music hall known as Wiltons. This place looks like and old derelict building waiting to be knocked down which gives it a unique feeling when you're inside, never been to anywhere like it. For more info on it check out http://www.wiltons.org.uk Anyway the support acts where very strange, some guy playing a music box, 2 arab magicians, a blond houdini escape artist and some bendable lady.... and not forgetting that the whole night was being presented by Harry Enfield dressed up as an old English gent. The Good, The Bad and The Queen were amazing... I only knew a couple of their songs but after hearing the rest I cant wait to get the album. Every song sounded awesome... it's not often a band does that to me. You can watch some of the gig here: http://www.myspace.com/thelist But i did manage to film some of it on my mobile phone as I was right near the front. Picked up the sound really really good so check them out: http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=platty182
MoogleViper Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Nice one. I haven't heard much from them but what I have heard sounds good. Plus Damon Albarn is great.
That dude Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Still Gorrilaz and Blur, just these are sort of seperate projects
weeyellowbloke Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I saw them a couple of weeks back on Later with Jools Holland. I was bit divided to be honest, some of the stuff they played sounded quite good where as other parts didn't really sound right. Maybe it's just the show though. I've heard other bands, that I know to be fantastic live, play on Jools Holland and sound underwelming.
Platty Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 No more gorrilaz There will still be Goriilaz. This is just another brilliant creation from Damon. I saw them a couple of weeks back on Later with Jools Holland. I was bit divided to be honest, some of the stuff they played sounded quite good where as other parts didn't really sound right. Maybe it's just the show though. I've heard other bands, that I know to be fantastic live, play on Jools Holland and sound underwelming. I saw that Jools Holland and Kinda agree with you. But after seeing them live myself my opinion has totally changed. Damon is a musical genius.

Platty Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 Yeah it's gonna be a great album... One of my favourite songs is "80's song" I love it. Check out my video of it: I cant stop listening to that one!
lforster Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I've heard the Electric Proms gig, they're excellent. Herculean is a joy to listen to over and over. Allbran sure is quality. Hope that Coxon rejoins for the follow-up to Think Tank.
