Posted May 26, 2010 Remember, SE is still localizing, so don't get mad at Nintendo. From Gamespite.net It's not shown in any of the screens so far, but with DQIX the localizers are also taking the opportunity to rename some old series standards. The Dharma Temple, for example, is now known as the Alltrades Abbey. I don't know if the translators were motivated by the need to make the oblique religious references feel more western, or if their obsessive need for alliteration won over consistency with Dragon Quest VII's localization, or if they were just worried about getting things muddled with Lost. Powder-blue Volkswagen buses would be tragically anachronistic here. Whatever the case, the dude who runs Alltrades Abbey is now named... Jack of Alltrades. Posted June 12, 2010 Dragon Quest IX ad program news(Does everyone like Seth Green? ) Source When the Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa in Kelseyville closed last November, its general manager, Greg Bennett, got busy guiding his proteges, Lake County teen rockers The Lost Boys. And things are happening. The band is featured in a new national ad campaign for Nintendo’s ‘DS Dragon Quest IX Sentinels of the Starry Skies’ game. Produced by Harvest films, the commercial also features actor Seth Green, who appeared in “Old Dogs” with robin Williams and John Travolta, and does voices for the animated TV shows “Family Guy” and “Robot Chicken. The Lost Boys include Beau Bastion, Gary Boyd, Thomas Cano, Jordan Mills and Matt Weiss. The group performed often at the Konocti, where Bennett had been manager since 1990. The ad will be shot at several Hollywood locations, including the Henry Fonda Theater, where the Lost Boys will be show performing in concert. The commercial will air nationally during the summer.
