  1. Are RGB cables compatable with all TV's that have a SCART input. I have a Sony Trinitron that my Dad got in '94. It can output in 60 HZ so would the RGB cable be an improvement over the boxed cables?
  2. Fine. You know what? Lock it, like I give two fucks. I was just trying to help.
  3. This is taken from 1up.com http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3150127 Kotaku points to an IGN interview with EA's John Schappert on the Revolution Wii version of Madden. Shappert, in classic exec fashion, drops a bomb during the conversation. Schappert mentions that the Nunchuku controller, like the popular Revmote Wiimote handset also has an acceleromator in it - meaning that the "juke" moves performed in Madden will be mapped to the Nunchuku and moving that controller will also move your character. Instead of simply waving one hand at your television to control the action, you'll now be waving both (or at least have the ability to, depending on how developers utilize the acceleromators in the two parts of the controller). Inevitably, we will have tons of coverage, hands-on, analysis and examination of the Wii when E3 gets underway next week.
  4. From Gamespot: An image is available at the link: http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/news/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=24568676 Source: A postcard sent out to press to promote Konami's E3 press conference. The official story: "No comment on the postcard."--Konami rep. What we heard: Late last year, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima sat down with Famitsu, Japan's leading game magazine. In it, he revealed he was developing an upcoming title for the Nintendo Revolution. He explained to the publication that he wanted the game to be drastically different from the stealth-action series which made him famous. He also hinted that he might be targeting female gamers specifically. While it caused a bit of a stir at the time, Kojima's Revolution revelation faded into the background, thanks to a drought of new information about the project. But that will likely end in two weeks, if the hints on the Konami E3 press conference invitation are to be taken at face value. The invitation, which arrived in GameSpot editors' mailboxes today, had a grey front with the Kojima Productions logo in the background. In the foreground are six words in all-caps: "RETURN," "REARM," "REGALE," "REBIRTH," "RESPECT," "REFINE." In each of the words, the letters "RE" were conspicuously offset in red. On the back, and even less subtle hint was dropped. "The REVOLT begins, Tuesday, May 9. It's the battle for E3," reads the card before giving the details of the event. Plainly, Konami is hinting that there will be a major announcement at its press conference that has to do with something starting in "Re." But while the Revolution references may have been fine last week, this week everything changed when Nintendo revealed its console's new name, "Wii." Why would Konami send out a teaser postcard for a Revolution game when they knew a name change was in the works? The answer is on the postcard, which bears a postmark of Wednesday, April 26--one day before the Wii name was revealed. Given that it was sent before the Wii announcement--which many diehard Nintendans are now claiming is a massive hoax--Konami must've stuck with the Revolution name just to not blow Nintendo's cover. That and it would be wii-ly hard to make a cool-sounding teaser with the console's new moniker. (Painful, we know.) Bogus or not bogus?: Looking not bogus--expect official confirmation at E3.
  5. No one is forcing you to buy it. Just buy the box set for a worthwhile price when it comes out. In any case, tonight's episode was easily the best I've seen in a long time. It wiped the floor with "New Earth" and was significantly better than "Tooth and Claw", which I thoroughly enjoyed, in fairness to RTD. It combined adventure, humour, nostalgia and a plethora of uproarious emotions into the tightest script possible. I think David Tennant has finally settled down and made the role his own and we're all better off for it. Edit: Beat me too it .
  6. AWWW!!! You spoiled it, you sir are a vulgarian! How my temper gets the best of me.
  7. If you find yourself completely bored, stabbing the F5 button in a vain attempt to eleviate the congealing numbness that is slowly enveloping you why not have a go at this little maze game? It's pretty fun especially if you time yourself (I know I'm really that sad...). Sure it's no Mario Kart DS but it's better than getting punched in the face. FACT!
  8. They don't have any purpose, just like our own planet. The only true "purpose" of the planets, including ours, is to merely orbit a ball of mass constantly converting into energy, both heat and light . It's only by a freak accident that amino acids formed on Earth, constructing the premordial soup from which all life evolved.
  9. For any Irish metal fans here check out www.downloadfestival.ie. Guns N' Roses and Metallica are playing on the 9/06/06 and the 11/06/06 respectfully. I'm guessing the other Download headliners Tool will be playing on the 10/06/06!
  10. That's a fair point. However I must add that the majority of the songs off of Opiate and Undertow aren't that long. Maybe you'd like those rather than Aenima and Lateralus (the more progressive stuff).
  11. Tool are easily one of, if not the most influential metal band of all time. The whole nu-metal movement merely copied Adam Jones' D-tuned riffs. Danny Carey too is one of the most technically and artistically proficient drummers in the world. Their compositions are truly unparalled. I would do anything for them to come play in Ireland. You don't know how lucky you are people! A post ...And Justice For All Metallica and a laughably bad "Guns 'N Roses"(if you can call it that) don't deserve to be on the same stage as Tool. It's that simple. If you like good music listen to Tool, if you want aural abortions listen to whatever the hell crap band are doing the rounds at the moment.
  12. As far as I know Nintendo own the copyright. It says copyright Nintendo on the title screen.
  13. If this new Nintendo magazine is trying to be mature wouldn't free gifts, usually the domain of children's magazines (and countless lifeless Bongo products), contradict this new identity?
  14. I for one, don't have broadband. This isn't my personal decision. Unfortunately the incompetence of the Irish government and the criminally slow roll out of broadband here has decided for me. So you might be asking yourself why should you care about some 56K Irish bogger from the middle of nowhere? I'll tell you why: Nintendo are targeting the casual market, those whom high tech gear is far from their day to day agenda. The majority of these people, if they even own a computer, will use a standard dial up connection. If these people purchase a Revolution they'll miss out on the wifi multiplayer, undoubtedly you might add. However, do they have to miss out on the virtual console? In my opinion,no. According to Satoru Iwata the Revolution will support SD memory cards (search for "SD" in the text) These days even the most "bargain basement" computers have suitable memory card readers. Therefore I suggest that Nintendo should allow their customers to buy retro games from the Stars Catalogue and by using the SD cards, transfer them to the Revolution. NES,SNES and even N64 games can easily be downloaded through a dial up connection (don't ask me how I know... ). So thats my two cents. Does anyone want to comment?
