Well, you really can't judge Wii's online system as many details haven't been revealed. It's bit too early to say how badly it will turn out.
-
Yeah, it really is. But the point is that too often we lose perspective to these things, and except everybody be interested about playing games online because we are very active Internet users. But the basic truth is that the more smaller the minority is, more vocal it is also.

There is only special weekends when you can play free with silver account. And there has been only two of them so far; one for USA, one for Europe.
-
That number was for original Xbox and came directly from Microsoft. And numbers that Microsoft have given for Xbox 360 are also true, but there are few things you must remember when you look them: 1) It's quite early in X360's life 2) X360's current user base is around 4-5 million units. 3) Most X360's early adopters are hardcore fans. Same hardcore fans that also used actively original Xbox Live. 4) Of course many people have silver account just to get firmware updates as it's free. But do they play online? Nope, as it isn't even simply possible with silver account.

UGO reviewed Excite Truck. B-. "...a fun racing game with not a whole lot of depth." http://www.ugo.com/ugo/html/article/?id=15987§ionId=38 Play Magazine gave Spongebob 7.
-
*Sigh* Did you "read" or read the review. It was pretty clearly stated that the game was really fun, but only so long as it lasted. They also said controls were good. Even world's greatest controls can't make game into brilliant masterpiece if it only lasts 4 hours.
-
Actually no. IGN hasn't even reviewed PS3 version yet and Xbox 360 version did get 8.8. And how is 7.7 bad? It is "Good" by IGN's own standards, as it's even clearly stated below the score. And score was mainly reduced by lack of online play*. Plus launch games won't never get that good scores. There is always maybe one or two really good games, others are average. This has been true to every other launch and Wii's launch won't be exception. EDIT: Added stuff. Sorry Blender. * Online play that really don't mean so much people as some posters / reviewers make you to believe. I mean, Xbox Live is world's most successfull online platform for consoles. Still only 18 percent of all Xbox users are active Xbox Live users. With PS2 number didn't even reach 10 percent.

Sigh... if you had actually *read* the reviews instead of just guessing, you would know nobody had problems with Wiimote. Main gripes with Excite Truck have been that game is short and multiplayer aspect is minimal. Wiimote works just fine. EDIT: Fixed quote

Component for LCD / HD-TV, RGB for normal CRT television. Composite is always last resort.
-
Yeah, it will look better.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Teppo Holmqvist replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Banned from this thread. -
BTW, David Fallows from NTSC-UK did take some pictures from his own LCD-TV to demonstrate how good Cube games look when you use component cable / progessive scan.
-
You can solder VGA cable from component cable. I don't actually know how this happens, but I have heard it's fairly easy to do.
-
I referred to Xbox version as DKC basically believed it was just PS2 hate.

First review is up; score 84 %. http://etoychest.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5398&Itemid=27 Only real problems Dobson found were really poor* multiplayer mode and no possiblity to play online. Before you complain about the score, Dobson is pretty reasonable guy and he doesn't pump his scores like some other reviewers do. If you translate his score into starts, Excite Truck go 3½ stars out of five. * Only two players, no other cars in multiplayer. Crashes are also disabled.
-
Hint: Only Xbox version featured custom soundtracks, and interface was indeed pretty bad.
-
Indeed.... I'm already wondering how bad feedback will be when people notice that PS3 isn't looking nice at all when used with composite cables that came with the console.
-
Composite looks extremely bad on LCD no matter what resolution you are using. By my understanding it has more to do with the way how LCD/Plasma television's refresh their screen than actual cables (and nearly all HD-TV sets are either LCD or plasma).
-
I don't know from where the big fuss comes from. Everybody know that picture always looks pretty ugly on big LCD TV if you don't use component cables. This is true to every console, not just Wii.

Wii's got game. New Madden 07 screens!
Teppo Holmqvist replied to OVERLORD's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well, even old (real?) Wii version screenshots feature 3D audience (albeit simple). For comparision, Mario Strikers Charged's crowd is also fully 3D, not just flat textures. And TBH, only major improvement in the substeinar's pictures is better grass texture (which doesn't even feature bump mapping or any other fancy effects). -
Wii's got game. New Madden 07 screens!
Teppo Holmqvist replied to OVERLORD's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well, I have now browsed through over 200 Madden 07 promo pictures for Xbox 360 / PS3. None of these pictures were featured on any major gaming site (IGN, 1UP, Gamespot), so I'm really wondering where these are from. EA's Wii team said during october they are going to revamp game's graphics, but I really doubt these are from Wii version. -
Virtual Console - All you need to know
Teppo Holmqvist replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I really don't like how Revo-Europe twisted Eurogamer's article and reported that Europe's VC is "limited only to PAL-releases". No one said anything like that in original article. Only thing that Nintendo's rep said that you must buy your VC games from Europe's VC shop. I can't even understand why Revo-Europe did draw so hasty conclusions, because it is shows extremely poor journalistic skill that nearly borders retardness. And BTW, first batch's Turbographx games are mostly games that were never released in Europe. -
Hint: NPD = USA, Media Create = Japan

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Teppo Holmqvist replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I don't know how he could finish game under 26 hours. I mean, most previewers have spent over 18 hours to beat two first dungeons. -
Yeah, this looks actually pretty promising.
