Is mercenaries mode co-op (both online and off) actually confirmed though? thats all I really wanted from the game besides the main story mode tbh.

No idea whats happening with the review copy THQ are supposedly sending me either, I assume it's just got delayed in the post, but well... we shall see.

Don't get me wrong, I may pick it up cheaply at some point but aside from astounding visuals and sounds and a few obligatory setpieces it just looks like a load of other games that are available allready even if it's better.

Lol the demo has nothing on the actual game, Ninja Gaiden Sigma is the definitive version of an already classic game, I can't comment much on GoW having not played it but I'm sure it has it's fair share of repitition etc as well and that didn't stop it from becoming a decent game just like Ninja Gaiden Black.

As amazing as Chrono Trigger is, the music particularly for the hardware it was made on, I'm going to vote for The Rip because I bought the album recently and it is excellent.

If it's a Wii title then... F-Zero, Kirby, Kid Icarus, Pilotwings or Pikmin If it's a DS title then... New Super Mario Bros 2, Super Smash Bros DS? Or it could all be hype and they might just have a release date for a game everyones been waiting for, or it could be something awesome from a third party, anyway it's not as if we have long to wait now, and even less if the embargo get's broken today or tomorrow or something. :p -
Fucking epic, now all it needs is a budget price, say £24.99 thought tbh probably worth full asking price, meh... anyway good news.

I'm anticipating a review copy of this from THQ so as long as they deliver (it should be on it's way now) expect a review soonish.

Or Play.com have just second-guessed the date, they do that from time-to-time. In fact I just checked it, mostly any games that are coming out on the Friday they have in-stock by the Wednesday, this isn't, also the artwork says 'subject to change' and it's not even rated yet apparently, so yeah it'll be a little while yet I reckon.

Yep, and I have the 32x attachment as well, it's hooked up to the Multi-Mega in the picture ^^ Chaotix is an awesome game, it throws away the traditional Sonic template and adds a whole lot more to the experience, just a shame that many places that reviewed it didn't see it that way... >> And granted there aren't many games released for the system, only about 45 I believe which includes the CD-32X games as well and I'm only buying the ones that I wanted to play all those years ago / still do today but there are a good few worth owning on it besides Chaotix such as Stellar Assault which is a full 3D polygon based shooter, definitive versions of Afterburner, Space Harrier, Virtua Fighter (well almost on that one) and of course Kolibri - a schmup where you control a Hummingbird made by the creators of Ecco that last one I really want but I'll wait it out because it isn't cheap. Lol I don't leave my key anywhere that it could be got easily but if you're ever in the area Cube you'd be welcome to play on it. I know they are truly awesome, this is probably the thing I love most about it, the wide range of varied and original characters used in the game, Mighty the Armadillo - runs like Sonic (almost) and can wall jump, Vectro the Crocodile - the fastest plus can climb walls and charge briefly in one direction, Espio the Chameleon - decent speed and can run along walls and ceilings, Charmy Bee - flies but in an entirely different way to how Tails did and of course Knuckles who runs, jumps, glides, climbs and well speaks for himself.

Yeah :/ I saw a boxed one go on there for well over £200 lol and didn't want to pay that much, so I waited and got an unboxed one in good condition.

Sega Multimega CDX Knuckles Chaotix & Stellar Assault Always wanted to own a Multi-Mega / 32x when I was younger but they were way too expensive back then :/ same goes for Chaotix & Stellar Assault, they've retained their value even today but back then I'd never have been able to afford these things but years later and now I've finally bought them, gonna be a tight month but it was well worth it. ^^

Ah now thats reasoning I can understand ok I'll stop speculating on it for now then, lets just focus on all the other awesomeness this collection will bring, because even as it stands I still can't wait for it. ^^

But... why else leave it out of what is supposedly the 'Ultimate' collection when it's been in 'lesser collections previously... they will release it, in either XBLA format or as part of a later collection surely?

I could dig out my copy of Sonic 3 and Knuckles right now if I wanted to but I have played through it a good few times so I think I'll wait for the inevitable XBLA re-release, though I do have a Megadrive sat on my desk right now >> but thats only 'cos I have a 32X hooked up to it and I was playing Knuckles Chaotix which I got today, awesome game ^^ hope they put that in a collection at some point as I know a lot of people would like to play that one I'm sure.

Hmm wait the game doesn't use IR? i.e you don't control where you shoot by moving the Wii-remote? I thought it did use IR, shows how misinformed I am >>' so how does it control then?

Calm down a bit Daz, frustrating it may be but we haven't played it yet and they have... though from the sounds of it yes, it's a multiformat site who don't spend enough time playing the Wii as the other consoles and as a result when a really AAA Wii game comes out, they are underwhelmed by certain things about it because they are too used to using a conventional controller. Maybe they had the sensitivity up to high, maybe they didn't take playtesting it seriously, maybe they were just crap at it or maybe they were right; the point is though, without playing it... we just don't know for sure, I'd like to think that after the sublime controls of Metroid Prime 3 and Resi 4 Wii that any other games would at least be half as good as this from a control perspective and if thats the case then there really isn't much to worry about. From what I've seen, the developers have put their heart and soul into developing this game from day one and I'm sure that it won't be anything less than a solid third party effort at the very worst and the next big Wii game of the moment at the very best.
