I just think its a bit silly to "hate" a video game company or its President. That's all. It's hard to ignore when it polutes every second post on this thread. I've tried moving the subject on to, you know, the game itself but no one wants to talk about that it seems. The voice chat discussion would be fine if anything of value was being said. As it is it's just the same moaning, repeated over and over, going round in circles. It adds nothing and is just another example of how negative this place gets every week.

"you guys are fucking pathetic" and "I fucking hate this company" is the same as calling Reggie a "lying cunt". Time to grow up or at least gain a shred of maturity.
-
Soooooooooo..... a new 3D platformer, great news, that genre didn't last long enough back in the day.
-
True but the "silver amiibo edition" and "gold amiibo edition" seem to suggest it's nothing to do with Metal Mario or Gold Coin Mario, and that there could be other characters in those lines.
-
Seems legit, if slightly strange
-
No one is defending the lack of voice chat. "you guys are fucking pathetic" and "I fucking hate this company" - unless you're 12 years old, seriously, have a word with yourself

IGN score is what the reviewer thought. Marty Sliva obviously thought it was an 8.7. If Colin Moriarty was still at IGN and he'd reviewed it it would have gotten a 9+ easily. Scores are subjective, the meat of a review is in the text not the score.

Completely agree with your post. You should try gaf, loads of Nintendo love there.
-
Isn't it easy for some random guy to add a kid as a friend? I've seen loads of posts on Miiverse saying "add me as a friend and I'll add you back"
-
Ah so because you can't say it to his face, it's fine to call him a cunt. Gotcha. That sounds like immature gamer entitlement talk, of which @Wii also is a fully paid up member. For the record, the above comment from Reggie isn't a lie. If he'd replaced the words "we want" with "we are going to" then you might have had a point.
-
NVC spoke about it for about a minute before Peer said that Nintendo doesn't want kids talking to adults in their games. People need to accept that, it just won't happen. Gaf talks about voice chat but there's also lots of discussion about the game itself on there. Before today it had been 7 pages since the last mention of it, we'd be lucky to go 3 posts on here without someone bringing it up. Fine complain about it but it's just the same things being repeated over and over.

I know it's a lot to ask in the gaming community but a little bit of maturity would be nice. It's really not necessary to call Reggie a c word, regardless of any "lies" you think he's told.
-
That's out of order, I'm not anti-social in the slightest, I just don't like people bothering me when I play games. I get why people would like it, it's just the never-ending obsessive moaning in every single post on this thread is getting too much. Have you played the demo? I'm sure there'll be some elements of strategy but the heat of the moment action is so chaotic that it's more of a make it up as you go along type of combat.
-
Great post from gaf, having played this at EGX a number of times, I can't imagine voice chat strategy will be of much use. The battles are so chaotic that strategy would go out the window pretty quickly.
-
Not to give the endless voice chat whining any more attention but calling Reggie a £@$%? A bit of perspective may be needed
-
Agree. I've never seen a community so obsessed with voice chat, to the point where this thread will be ruined for the next six pages of people bitching about nothing but that, completely ignoring the game itself. Nintendo as a family company don't want to open the can of worms of kids chatting to adults, that's always been the way. I'm hyped we finally get a 3D platformer, Mario aside it's been way too long So hyped for this game, going to be fantastic

Picked this up the other day and put a couple of hours into it so far. Fantastic game and definitely worth a look if anyone is tempted to try it out. Reminds me quite a lot of Abe's Odyssey, in a Metroidvania overworld. Some great music too.

Funny how... has suddenly turned into "August 2017"

DONE! *@£$ me that was stressful. To be fair the last 15 or so levels weren't quite as difficult as I was dreading, and the bullet bill ones especially are probably the easiest of the later levels, but still probably took at least a dozen attempts in all. I think a lot of luck is involved as to whether you get an easy path in some of the stages. Thanks @Hero\-of\-Time for the tips! What an absolute gem of a game. I really hope Nintendo don't just drop the idea, let's see more Captain Toad in the future

It's not the finishing that's worrying me, it's the 5000 coin stipulation, but if that's easily done then fair enough. Never thought to tap enemies either. I also can't figure out the best view, I guess from above at a slight angle so you can just about see the entrances between blocks.
-
Ok I'll just make my way to the exit each time. So just out of curiosity, is this the hardest level in the game or are the ones afterwards even harder?
-
Is the maze level the one that everyone here is finding impossible? I only ask because it looks like there's a few more levels afterwards. Anyway the maze level can F off. I barely managed to reach level 10 on my 6th or 7th attempt, let alone any further than that. I suppose I could try doing it without collecting all the coins. Can't imagine I'll finish this now, which is a shame as I always like to 100% Mario platformers.

I never saw what the fuss was about with the Song of Healing, maybe playing through it again will change my mind. Have to say I think there was a noticeable step down in quality of Ocarina tunes from OOT, especially the dungeon tunes. They seem to be cut short in MM. The Deku Palace theme makes up for it though.

Next handheld: announced at E3 2016, release later that year Next console: announced at E3 2017, release later that year/2018 IMO. So? That's not an indicator of quality or fun. If you want to play those 3D AAA games then you should buy a PS4 or Xbox.
