I like Tearaway, but I do question how the public would have reacted if Nintendo were the ones who implemented the touch technology in such a way.
-
Fire Emblem yes. F-Zero no
-
Noted for future reference
-
I thought they did. Didn't Gearbox claim responsibility for the Pro Controller? But yeah, that'd help. Throw money at them for some console exclusives/exclusive content like Sony & MS did and they're golden.
-
Do what Sony & MS do and throw money at the problem.
-
To be fair, it is an unprecedented partnership :p
-
Of course not. Sony owns Media Molecule & Naughty Dog :p

Seemed about on-par with the PS4 when I played it yesterday. Bootup around the same, took about the same length to get into a game. Could just be the Netflix app being sucky, but ever since the last few system updates, the Wii U has been speedy for me. It used to be awful Agreed. Could I request the term be used as "outdated specs" rather than the "outdated technology" which was being used?
-
Yeah, I'm not disputing the facts the the Wii U has lower specs. I'm disputing the assertion that it contains outdated technology.
-
No, I got distracted by covering Pokémon ORAS, you know something actually important that millions (yes, millions) rely on me for, and your attitude towards me shows envy. I'll hunt my logs for a link to that article which explained how the bandwidth works since you won't take my word and knowledge about it. I have knowledge about these things. You can't accept that because you are deadset on the idea that I am "beneath" you hence your continual attempts to shoot me down. I only brought up my qualifications due to this. The Wii U is technologically advanced, yes. It's not high spec, but the technology is advanced. Why are you actually incapable of understanding such a concept? And again, you're bringing software into the equation when the argument is about outdated technology. Once more, lower specs does not equate to outdated technology. No? Are you intentionally being obtuse?
-
Perhaps, but I also keep up with everything in this field. I feel that you attempt to condescend me and dismiss my abilities and knowledge just because I run a site about a franchise you don't care about. You try to demean me, and it's not logical. Because it is advanced technology. Again, you're only equating specs to whether or not something is advanced and that's erroneous. If you want to complain about the Wii U's specs, that's fine...go for it, but to say it is outdated technology is factually incorrect. That is why I countered your statement and you're just clamouring to try and claim ground because your ego is so huge that you cannot stomach that I am correct and you are not. Factually true statement. Again, you're trying to demean me and mock me, but it fails because you're just making yourself look stupid. Good going.

I have a Bachelor of Science in this and will be starting a Masters in the next couple of years, thank you very much. Just because I run a Pokémon website does not mean I don't have the knowledge. How dare you attempt to condescend me. Do you really think you are capable of such a thing? Don't think for a second that you are. So because "nobody gives a crap" about the capabilities of technology means it shouldn't be counted? Technology is outdated based on capabilities, efficiency, age etc. and the technology in the Wii U is, in 2012 terms, modern and unique. You may not care, but it's a fact. Deal with it. Specs do not equate whether or not technology is outdated, and it's ridiculously stupid to think otherwise. You do realise that we're talking about technology, correct? We're talking about the technology behind that and the points you bring up are irrelevant to the topic at hand and show your attempts to scramble a potential argument rather than accept that you were wrong. How well or badly the GamePad is used has no factor into the technology within it. The technology within it is very advanced. Yeah ok.
-
Coming from someone who cannot tell the difference between outdated technology and advanced technology but with "lower" specs..."ouch". Try again
-
No, I am talking technology here. I'm the one of the two of us who actually has credentials when it comes to computing technology. You just look at specs and think "Oh, it's more advanced". I look at the technology and the technology is very advanced and competent Wii U has lower specs, yes, but the technology in the console is ridiculously efficient and advanced. As for the GamePad, it's not "hardly used", either. It's ALWAYS used. Just because it's not used in a gimmicky way, but I am talking about the technology behind it, since you said it was "outdated" Also, Nintendo policies aren't ones that make them at odds with developers. You're thinking of Microsoft
-
I have a graphics card. It's the latest tech, but it's not the highest spec. Ergo it's not outdated. See the edit to my original post. You are continually equating higher specs to being more advanced. That is not the case. Technological advancements are not just based on higher specs, but on efficiency, capabilities etc.
-
You're implying the Wii U is outdated. It is not. May I just remind you that raw numbers are not the only indicator of technological prowess? Especially considering the high level of competence in the Wii U's technology. The streaming is top notch, they get so much power out of such little energy. It's a masterpiece. They don't just go "more power" and don't care about everything else, technologically the Wii U is nice and it is very modern. Just because its specs are lower does not mean it's outdated. The Wii U's problem isn't power. It's that Nintendo are so incompetent at marketing. They screwed marketing up for it globally. In E3 2011, they said they'd reveal a new console, they said they had their new console yet somehow people still thought it was a peripheral. The advertising for it has been ridiculously poor (I haven't seen a Smash U advert in the UK...criminal), and the name really dampened things. They just need to relearn how to market things and, even if the Wii U's successor is "less powerful", it could still do very well

Do note that this also isn't a simple VC release where they convert the ROM, bugfix to run correctly with the emulator and then upload it. They had to recode a good chunk of it for it to be playable

I am so glad that you don't run a business

Yeah, I'm about half way through Episode 3 and have a good 6 hours logged I do think this game is perfectly built for a level editor. Maybe that could come as DLC, but could kill any future sequel possibilities

Soundtrack is on iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/pokemon-omega-ruby-pokemon/id951849989

No DLC confirmed yet, but I'd be surprised if not. We need to find out what amiibo do in it, though
