  1. If there's any company that buys Nintendo, I also hope it'd be Disney. Disney puts such faith in the things they purchase. Marvel and Star Wars have been treated beautifully since the purchase. Nintendo could thrive and take more risks. Ideally, though, I don't want it to happen :p
  2. The Gamespot review ended with Makes me suspicious that he wasn't the guy to review it. Especially as he said the controls were too perfect and used it as a thing against the game. Plus ShopTo have been a bit dodgy of late with their deliveries. I got mine for £38, thanks to the £5 I got from them fucking up my original amiibo order which caused me to start to mistrust them.
  3. It's also a very smart thing. Microsoft and Sony have their other divisions which allow them to eat up loss at the start of a generation, should that occur. Nintendo doesn't have that, which is why they had 3 years of financial loss following the 3DS being sold at a loss and then the Wii U being sold at a loss. By leveraging their IP in other ways, as well as QoL and mobile, they will make some decent cash on the site and it'll allow them to be more experimental and daring with their hardware, rather than too safe.
  4. My copy has shipped
  5. I think you can use the special character cards as standard amiibo...but I can't remember where I read that.
  6. I believe it does use the amiibo cards, tbf
  7. Lunar Blaster goes live tomorrow
  8. I don't think they'll do a Mario Tennis series. I think the Super Mario series will be continued and used for Mario spin-off titles. I think by launch, we'll likely get the second wave of Mario series featuring some characters that aren't in Smash but are in Mario spin-offs i.e. Toadette, Waluigi, Birdo etc. TBF, isn't amiibo Festival a free title, but with a retail presence with a bundle of 2 amiibo figures and a pack of cards? I'm not getting it anyway, doesn't look interesting enough for me. It's a grey area. They need to find a balance that can please everyone, but when people complain about the most minor uses, they're going to get complaints no matter what.
  9. You want Nintendo to have an awesome console that can stand with the others, right? Then let them talk about amiibo. They don't care about them more than games, but the difference is they can make money, especially tied in with games. This, as well as other avenues, will give Nintendo the money so maybe they can eat some losses in the future. You are exaggerating their presence in the Digital Event, though.
  10. What is a joke? Did you not tell by the stupid closing tag? Yeesh :p
  11. Easy. This review came after Nintendo's E3 showing. [/RidiculousConspiracyBull] I dunno, I feel 2D platformers really don't get reviewed highly anymore. It always seems like reviewers of some places really look down on the genre. It's a similar thing to what we were discussing in another thread about top-down Zelda titles. I personally can't wait, though.
  12. You often come at me with passive aggressive statements. Do you not think I'd pick up on that?
  13. As were your comments.
  14. I think it was shoehorned in. Shoehorned in doesn't necessarily mean it was bad. Just because it wasn't necessary and put in anyway doesn't mean it is either a risk or innovative. You use those words but I don't think you understand what they mean.
  15. That was not my intent. With the first, you said that they were blue lines that represented nothing. All I was doing was providing a correction and information. They do match up, with the bottom part being the dash, but I assume they didn't want to block the view by animating, but it does match up. I truly apologise if the posts came across as condescending. It was not my intent
  16. I disagree. The Nintendo published titles are ridiculously varied. I could do a list if you want, but I don't want to resort to list wars. Exactly. They did it fairly well, but it just wasn't necessary.
  17. I disagree. I just don't think you realise what the art style is. The N64 looks nothing like that, for one
  18. Those blue lines represent the folds in the cockpit's window.
  19. Yeah I had a connection error today. Think they're working on the servers ahead of Splatfests to make sure it doesn't collapse again.
  20. Comparing Treehouse Live to the E3 show demos, the Treehouse Live stuff is a bit of a later build. There's more going on
  21. You're correct. They're better.
  22. Only if we want to make ourselves feel sad
  23. To be fair, @Mr_Master_X2, Nintendo doesn't control Pokémon and Game Freak don't do the spin-offs :p While I agree with much of what you said, A Link Between Worlds is awesome. Why is it looked down on because it's top down rather than a 3D adventure? That's as much a game as any other. I dislike how the industry has shifted to looking down on a few types of games as if they're inferior.
  24. Never said that it didn't require a bit of work.
  25. No, they're not poor. They're stylised. They aren't aiming for realism. They're going for a cartoony, thunderbirds simplistic look. The only issue is a lack of polish, which always comes last with Nintendo.
