  1. Some amiibo will work more than others. It'll never be uniform The Pokémon amiibo do still work in this game, but in a general manner.
  2. Some Costume Mario Love the Pikmin
  3. They're not useless in Mario Maker though!
  4. Further functionality for amiibo So, the official Japanese site updated their amiibo compatibility chart (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/amiibo/software/amiibo_CompatibilityChart.pdf) and in it contains some interesting details. We all know how the Chibi Robo specific amiibo works (levelling up Chibi Robo and unlocking the Toy Capsule Machine), but now we know what the non Chibi Robo amiibo do. First, scanning any amiibo will get you coins to spend on items in the game, which we knew beforehand however, we do now know that there is additional functionality for all amiibo except Pikachu, Lucario, Charizard, Greninja, Jigglypuff, Sonic, Pac-man or Mega Man. If you scan them, you can then access the Toy Capsule Machine which may give you a special figurine of Chibi Robo doing the pose of the amiibo in question. (Thanks to StreetsAhead for clarifying) Pretty cute functionality.
  5. The content is not substantial, though. It's always a cute little extra that typically only makes sense for having the figure. Like how the hell would the Smash stuff work as "DLC"? It wouldn't. How would the Mario Party stuff work as "DLC"? It wouldn't. Or they could continue doing it like Super Mario Maker where you don't need the amiibo to get the content, the amiibo just makes it quicker. This seems once again to be people complaining who don't understand what amiibo actually are for, making their statement and then standing by it despite it not having facts behind it. The only thing I could agree with are the Mario Kart costumes, but everything else it just wouldn't fit.
  6. Figures are no longer "hard to get hold of" if you live in Europe, though. But yeah, Nintendo will likely try to stop this.
  7. These awesome Coaster Sets have all just been added to the Club Nintendo Stars Catalogue. http://ntdo.co.uk/2L
  8. It's held back somewhat by the fact that you have to draw to get his costume changes, and the detection for it isn't so great
  9. Wario: Master of Disguise this week
  10. We think that there may have been a Direct planned for this month but postponed for obvious reasons. Hopefully we'll get one next month
  11. Well levels can be shared on Miiverse like Mario VS Donkey Kong if I'm not mistaken, so all we have to do is follow eachother and job done
  12. I think that is another reason why they're doing this. Give people few tools at first so it's not just insanity
  13. ShopTo have added Mewtwo http://www.shopto.net/video-games/wiiu/WIIUAM64-amiibo-mewtwo Modern Mario http://www.shopto.net/video-games/wiiu/WIIUAM65-amiibo-modern-mario-8-bit
  14. I do question why there isn't a "General" there, but that part is meant for discussion and it even says so in the description
  15. You can complain, I have complained about it. What is taking things to levels of hyperbole however is making asinine statements such as "Nintendo thinks their consumers have double digit IQs" and things like that. That's the thing I take issue with and makes me think the complaints are going overboard.
  16. Have to play at least five minutes with each day's toolset to unlock the next day's You're really overexaggerating this issue. Other games have unlocks as you progress, why the hell should this not? Seriously, some of you guys are complaining for the sake of complaining, I swear. Would it have been better if it wasn't locked to calendar days? Sure, nobody is disputing that, but the fact people think Nintendo are thinking their fans are simple minded and treating people as stupid is quite frankly the most ridiculous thing I have seen here in quite some time.
  17. Ideally it wouldn't be locked behind calendar days but time spent with the creation tools, but alas.
  18. Well that was more for Splatoon, but yes.
  19. I don't think it's treating people like idiots. It's more an attempt to keep games relevant for longer. I can see why they're doing it here. So many options instantly would turn a lot of people off as they'd not know what to do. A different, non-time related, way of unlocking may have been better but this isn't a massively bad thing and it's not treating people like idiots, it's more giving the game a learning curve that would otherwise not exist in the game. Funnily enough, other games have things unlock gradually too...it's called progression. You're required to use the previous assets in order to unlock the rest, there's just also a time based element. Simple as that.
  20. Eh? For general discussion, you go to the Discussion part of it. People just use "Hint" as it's the default option. I don't understand your complaint as it's quite clearly there.
  21. There's also a 10-Mario Challenge that has a selection of a few levels that are built into the game
  22. Ah sorry. I missed that. When I loaded the page it went to Shorty's post. Sorry.
  23. GAME have a pre-order bonus now I still prefer the NUK T-Shirt You can set time and if it autoscrolls (with three stages of speed)
  24. I said more tolerable. ShopTo, Amazon and GAME were selling them at £6 a pack
