The Smash series was a great way to start it. I doubt we'll see many more big series now. Next up I think we'll see Super Mario Series 2 featuring the Donkey Kong, Rosalina and Wario amiibo shown in Mario Party 10 (obviously delayed to push production to the Smash ones) as well as Daisy, Toadette and Waluigi. Then I just think we'll see continued compatibility with the existing amiibo, and the occasional one like the Mario maker one, Chibi Robo one etc.

Aside from any badass DLC characters, I'm done with Smash after Mewtwo. Now, if there's a Pokkén collection...god help us all

I'm waiting for a surprise Direct in the next month with a biggish game for November/December.

Nintendo UK still haven't shipped my amiibo, while they've shipped all my friends'. I'm getting sick of them, considering Yodel take forever. After the Mario Maker debacle, and now this, I'm beginning to lose my faith in there.

A delayed game can eventually be good, a rushed game is bad for ever. Kinda bummed about it, but it gives ample Xenoblade time. Then there's the game I was told about before E3 which then strangely wasn't revealed. Maybe that'll be in a Direct soon.

I completely agree. XY has been top notch. Ash hasn't been an idiot, and is actually generally badass. The supporting characters are great. Team Rocket are back to their classic selves, but don't appear every episode now. But the battle animations, that is where it signs. In past sagas, they often used that cut to the Japanese anime style background while it used the move and had that as stock footage, but now they very rarely use that. You see the moves in context, and well animated. Then there's the whole Mega Evolution arc Incidentally, and semi related, the Pokémon Symphonic Evolutions concert is in London Eventim Apollo on Decmeber 20th at 7:30pm

It's the best way of disseminating information, and when you think about it, there were a lot of Directs without Iwata. Iwata even introduced a successor in them this year. Without Directs recently, info has been coming through PR and it's so easy to miss things, whereas in a Direct, everything gets showcased and you get shown games you may not even know you'd want. While it'll be weird, in my view it'd be wrong to stop doing them. Let his legacy continue, don't just stop.
