So, Nintendo have pretty much confirmed the Wii is dead.

I'm only going off personal experience and I'm not stating what I am saying as fact. What I do know is, when I first got the Wii I enjoyed it. After about a year, I bought a PS3 and then I completely lost interest in the Wii. There are many more people (including on here), who felt the same way. As for my 'trendy to do so' comment, that was a bit sensationalist of me, but it probably holds some truth. -

I think in the long run, there are going to be a lot of people who regret ignoring the Wii's game library. It seems to me, that the main reason why people dislike the Wii amd consoles in general, is because it's trendy to do so. Also the fact that it's cheaper and weaker than the other consoles, people automatically don't care. I guarantee that within five years, maybe more, maybe a bit less, everyone is going to be saying how awesome the Wii was. Including myself, probably. -

The one thing I miss, that unfortunately wasn't available on the Virtual Console, was rumble. I remember playing Lylat Wars on the N64, with the rumble pack and the framerate would drop considerably when there were big explosions and the controller would be in a spasm. Good times!

True, however some games lock save files. Which basically means you can't transfer them over unless you use an ethernet cable to connect the two consoles. I can't remember the exact details, you can find this info on the PS3 backup options, somewhere in system settings. I have bad luck with my PS3's and even when I do remember to make a backup, I can't restore all save files, because some of them are locked.

To be fair I may skip the next console cycle. Portable and PC gaming is the way forward. If I do get a console, it will be Nintendo because I can play the type of games MS and Sony make on the PC. I've improved the list for you. Also, respect for putting Wipeout on that list.

If you want to see the type of 3D that looks like something is coming out of the screen, just download and install the latest firmware. Once you've done that, go and watch the new video (comes with the new firmware). It's not all 'eye-popping 3D' but there is a section that is.

Nintendo released the successor to the DS, because It's in Nintendo's best interest to do so. What makes you think the DS doesn't need to be succeeded yet? The design isn't that bad, I think it looks better than the DS Lite and It's a hell of a lot better than the phat. Personally the word 'horrendous' isn't the word I'd use. I think if you want to use a word that describes the 3DS design in a negative point-of-view, I'd use the word plain. I think it's a very good system, the only downside is that it's early days yet, so not much out for it. But that's the same with all new system launches. I do like the way you've described your dislike for the 3DS design btw. Edit: Is this one of those situations you warned me previously of, where I'm not meant to take you seriously?

That's what I'm planning on doing and going by those promotional trailers, a couple of months back, that's exactly what Nintendo wants you to do. To be fair though, there's not much point at the moment, but I do it anyway.
