I think the first boss has too much HP still and it basically requires you to chip away at him while being extremely cautious. I mistake can ruin you and leads to a pretty stressful encounter moreso than it being fun. May want to see if you can summon in someone to help out and make the encounter easier, Souls style. Glad you can see the potential here though. Think a few may have written it off without even giving it a try which is possibly down to the lacklustre marketing. To be fair though, that's how it was with the souls franchise in the beginning. Completed the demo again after a monster 5-6 hour session on Saturday and had to stop right there as I was getting the addiction dreams that I have when I REALLY like a game. Can't be getting too attached when it will be gone so soon so going back to playing the waiting game. But fundamentally I loved it. Want more.

My god I take back everything I said about the difficulty. That sub mission omg. Sometimes this game gives you a challenge, and you internally shout "REALLY?!" then the challenge just gets ramped up and you then say "I'm sorry I even said anything". But loving it. Love the changes and I think this game has one of the best third person cameras in an action game. Not once has it screwed me over and that's a rarity in this genre. Onto the last mission!

Was playing this yesterday and was thoroughly enjoying, though it is remarkably easier than before and I kind of miss that healthy challenge that was previously there. The improvements to UI, FPS, graphics, controls, networking are very welcome and very noticeable. In general, it feels more complete and a different, distinctive beast when compared to Dark Souls. If this is a Beta then the former version was definitely a 'true alpha'. Will smash through it some more today when I am out of work.

Nightfall this week is dying mind and primed for imago loop farm. Anyone up for a few nightfall strikes to get this?

Gonna focus on getting good and getting the stamina management down to the point where it is second nature. Can see this being akin to a bloody rhythm game!

These were horrible horrible lies. It's 30. Some people need new eyes. That said, enjoying it loads. Still on first planet! Have all the materials I need but currently exploring it and continually finding new things. Got a nice new mining laser, figured out you can SWITCH firing modes so no need to dismantle upgrades like an idiot. Found more but don't want to spoil. Going in blind is definitely best way to play. Will say explore planets. You find so much you wouldn't be expecting.

Sorry I couldn't join you guys again. Saw the PSN message sent to me but couldn't reply as I was in the middle of some furious urgent hunts. Trying to get there myself and then repay the favour. I was also having the issue of people appearing offline despite being told they were online, not sure what's going on there. Might be online today but currently distracted by No Mans Sky.

Tried to join you guys but lobby was full. Playing with randoms can be a...random experience. Some will be awesome, others will leave you scratching your head, some will greed like crazy and others are will disappear as soon as they have what they want. Sigh, hunter nature never changes.

Have kept myself in the dark about this but having read some of the comments, is this 60fps on ps4 (I know, I know but man it matters to me)? If so I will get it ASAP. Otherwise I am holding off for a pc buy once I have upgraded gfx card.

I should be online today. Did some hunts at the weekend and managed to make quite a bit of progress now having unlocked the more interesting fights. Do you guys not have a ps4 which could be used for party chat?

Wish I could start at 5. I haven't even left work by then! Thanks for the hunts guys! Breezed through the competition like a knife through butter. Still lacking materials to make the weapons that I really want though like dragonite or firestone. Not sure why they make you struggle so much in the beginning. There is a variety but they all have sharpness issues. Anyways, hoping to breeze through HR2 and make it to the more interesting enemies. These MH1 foes move waaaay too fast for my liking!

I have terrible luck. Power cut on Wednesday and then was out for bowling on Thursday. I will try make it online today if there is room but am still only HR1. Trying to learn charge blade. Haven't quite figured out how to get yellow and red shield exactly grrr.

Had a session online earlier with randoms. Carted twice! Extremely humbled me and taught me to configure things so I wouldn't be blind sided by beasties too much. Increased camera speed and changed from gs to dual swords. Am now able to be vulnerable for less time and track monsters more quickly. Also played more single player to learn the new mechanics. Need to learn a lot like how to mount properly. Did it once but failed to make it count. Wonder what else i have to discover. Would really like to get online tho with you guys at some point too

Hmmm I'm a hoarder so nothing gets sold! Will get the jaggi armour as I found it difficult to kill passive enemies with the sword and shield before they ran off. Currently collection as many materials as I can so I can build up my supplies and get crafting/mixing
