Does Ike have to hit with the edge of his sword like Roy to afflict effective damage or does it not matter as long as he hits you with the sword? With marth it requires the tip of the sword so it can be argued that he takes a little more skill to use as players need to gauge the distance properly.

But isn't his recovery shockingly bad like marth and Ganon? Also, whenever someone says so and so is crap, always makes me feel like playin as that character and proving them wrong.

Strangely, that last bit of info piqued my interest. I find myself feeling though, that I would be more interested if this was a Wiiware title. Dunno why

Oh im planning on getting a PS3 this year too but only for the stuff I can't get on my PC (which actually needs an upgrade) and is just not available, or not worth getting on the Wii.

Do you have no friends to play smash with or something? Smash is fun in single player, but unsurpassabl in multiplayer. And im talking local. With this crap chat, you miss out on talking about the crazy stuff that happened in the game after its over.

Nintendo wear a smile and say we want you to smile as broadly as we are, while they secretly do things that just eat a hole in your pocket (I still remember the price fixing from days gone by)

That you may possibly have to buy, only for it to get blocked again. Geez no console in this generation is free of some major drawback. Nintendo have their horrible policies. Sony just have a lack of quality games (at the moment) and Microsoft have console hardware issues ruining the machines image.

Why would americans, or anyone owning an american Wii need freeloader anyways. The thing came out around about the same time as the american version of Brawl, and I can't really think of anything other than NMH and Brawl that is worth getting the freeloader for. They also have the best version of NMH so you can scrap that off the already small list. even though its cruel, this news makes me feel a little better for waiting for the EU release.

Almost, phrase is 'calm before the storm'. Ganon was immense for me in melee. Still is. Same with Samus. Although i spammed items and projectiles with her back in melee so I may struggle a bit at first in Brawl. But if ganon is the same and the game is supposedly slower, it may be easier to connect with those heavy blows Falcon I find impossible to use in melee. Dunno how my friend does it but he used to connect with that horrible knee so often. Is he slower or faster now? And apparently Wario is pretty good. Different but good. And now my obligatory brawl statement: Can't wait till this game comes out

Psi-ops was released (on the PS2) at the same time and was similar in that it made use of psychic powers, but different in that it was more action focused so I think more people went for it instead. EDIT: Me included :P

Im not importing. Got too much work to do (even though atm im not doing it) and I know that if I did get it now, getting out of this third year of uni with a degree would become nigh on impossible. Besides, getting rid of the american version when the european version comes around will be a pain in the butt. My love for Smash is strong but my love of laziness is stronger :P

Hell no would I want them to take the franchise in this direction. But having it as a spin off is an option no? Even though it will never happen.

Lack of money and getting priorities straight helps with increasing the will to wait for this game.

Initially i had just one word in my mind: NO. Then I read the first post and it didn't sound like such a bad idea, especially when i remember how fun it was to play as a goron in legend of zelda: majora's mask. Combat system would be dull without additional skills becoming available as players level up, one of those skills could be the ones link had in majora's mask. Imagine high speed travel as a goron. No need for mounts or such and no dull traversal that can be found in the mmos. Zoras would be kings of the sea, but high speed maybe available from level 1. Human types like hylians and gerudos could get horses allowing them to use weapons when mounted and equip the steeds with armour. The Stalfos could have limited warp capabilites were the given ground a specific compatible type and they had enough of a certain resourse (remember how the skeletons would pop out of the ground at night time, thats how this is related). Sounds like a good idea to me but I highly doubt Nintendo would take such a gamble with one of their most respected IPs. Plus their approach to the internet displays viewpoint on its importance to their success. Nothing more than a dream, but a nice one.
