Wow, so many great quotes just on the first page!

Throw in some food and you've got yourself another day in paradise!

Gah, all the ones I can think of are too obvious and thus not funny. Must ... think ... harder ... POP! *collapses*

It's made by F@NB0Y$!.

Come on, guys, I know we've had the thread before, but the other was dead and as far as I'm concerned, reviving old threads is frowned upon. Albert Einstein has had so many gemstones, and some of them are also funny. These are but a few of my favourites: Many of them can be found here. Otherwise, just Google them.

Damn, two so important birthdays! Mustn't miss those! Happy birthdays to both!

It's nice to see the new members grasping the atmosphere in here. :p And to answer your question, Molly, there is no such things as "too much" in here.

Dunno, but it does make things easier, don't you think? -
XP "We are gathered here today to bring together Sarah and Peter in holy marriage. Nice to see you again, Peter! Knocked this one up, too, eh?"

I'm never gonna get out of this now, am I? :p

You know that they say: "What happens in real life stays in real life."

No one is going to see my penis in here. Except maybe a few individuals, but I'm not mentioning any names.

In your dreams, perhaps ...

Gah, I realised my mistake too late! :p NO, you WON'T see it! NEVER!

Yup, the Jante Law is horrible. According to Wikipedia, it has incarnations in the other Nordic countries as well, including Finland. Looking good! ... Christ, that sounded desperate.

This is the User Image Gallery. Arab's image was related to a user. Makes perfect sense. Here in Denmark, we have the infamous Jante Law which comprises 10 rules that generally all dictate the same thing: Don't think you're better than us. Some people find it hard to differentiate between fair pride and arrogant boasting - the so-called Janters. I've always found it perfectly fine for people to display something they're proud of - as long as they aren't being arrogant about it.

Since I'm not old enough to drive yet, I haven't got much to add (I'm viewing 'cause I'm bored ), but there is one thing I can relate to: Young guys who have just gotten thier license (or perhaps even not) and drive fast and irresposibly as hell. Whever I see one of those, I say to myself or whoever I'm with: "That's one of those persons you'll see in a car crash someday." We had a lot of car accidents in Denmark last year and many of them were caused by young, irresponsible drivers.

That depends on how you view it. It takes a lot to kill yourself, but I'm not sure if I would call it courage or desperation. You could also say it is cowardly to take "the easy way" out of your problems, but on the other hand it's not necessarily because you're afraid of the future, but because you find it to be easier. I don't think courage/cowardice are sufficient enough to describe/explain suicide.

It's not meant to make sense, that's the (attempted) funny part. Of course the theory of special relativity is more complex than that, but "E=mc^2" is so famous that most people have heard/seen it.
-
Well, I guess I could accept it. As mentioned, the idea of using any form of "physical discipline" seems wrong in my head, but the different arguments in here has made me think a lot about it, pushing my opinion a little.
-
Enough with the flattery already.
-
Einstein's special theory of relativity. E equals MC squared. But here, MC squared equals not E, but "empty container". I know it's not genious, but it's what came to mind.

I sometimes get too caught up in debates that I feel passionate about. Sorry about that.

It's difficult to answer and depends very much on the circumstances. Do you have a specific situation in mind? I know you probably want a straight yes/no answer from me, but the truth is there's no simple yes/no or black/white when debating a subject as serious as this. Sorry, but I can't take that webpage seriously. Call me a paedagocial hippie, but the tone alone on that webpage shows the pattern of thought. Hell, he lists different beating manoeuvres?! Doesn't this just show that an upbringing with beating produces people who have no problems hitting their kids? Violence is a bad way to handle problems, people. I have begun to possibly accept the fact that it may be necessary in some extreme situations, but that page is just ridiculous.
