eel, i too am ds-less and wii-less. both of mine are off to nintendo (ds lite has the cracked hinge problem). just bought 42-all time classics as well. and ive just ordered metal slug off play.com. really itching to play some games!

i bought mine on import in december... 35 quid. its been worth it though - looks great on the hdtv

oh crap. goodbye high scores then. good to know, cheers. they wanted the adaptor as they said it may be a problem with the power input. sounds like crap to me, but i sent it in anyways. 19 quid was nasty. it was sent recorded delivery (or special, cant remember, my girlfriend posted it). maybe the adaptor pushed up the price? it is quite heavy compared to the wii. thats a p!sser. i hope i dont get screwed on this... but i probably will.

eel - it was £19 pounds to send it. that inlcuded sending the ac adaptor in the same box. its quite steep considering i had to pay it and its a potential manufacturing fault. if it turns out to be such a fault, i'll be on the phone complaining that i'm out of pocket!

my wii is with nintendo at the moment and i think i'll get a replacement unit. the only beef with the mii's is that the new wii will treat them like wiis made by another user, and therefore won't allow you to edit them. not a biggie, but a bit annoying.

TW08 hs got to have online play. its exclusion is the reason i didnt buy 07 . I think the promise of online in 08 will be a system seller for the EA sports lovers. get crackin EA, and sort out the progressive display option too.

I have a samsung 850 upscaling dvd player with hdmi output. the settings you have access to on it are quite comprehensive. there is a remote control hack to make it region free too and it is a great quality player. sorry for double post, but if you can connect your pc to your tv(vga or hdmi/dvi) with the right fiddling in powerDVD, VLC or a similar powerful dvd program, you can get results superior to any common upscaling dvd player. and if you have a 720p set that is not exaclty 720 resolution (as is common), the pc can output at the exact resolution as your tv - increasing the quality of the display further (I think the 360 can set to non-standard 720p settings too) as standalone upscaling dvd players will not upscale to the PC-style standard that many "720p" tvs fit.

thanks for the welcomes. i am one of the shadowy 250 people who visit the site daily... now lay the guilt on thick for the other 249! I was going to sign up to the boards and sign up for the strikers tournament, but realised i was utter utter crap and would have had my arse handed to me. My wii is currently in Nintendo Codestorm Hospital, but when i get it back i'll get some practice in.

My wii always got quite hot when in standby in wiiconnect24. after reading about the case getting slightly distorted because of the heat, i checked my launch-day wii on thursday and... it was bubbled out. Sent it back to nintendo on friday (along with the cracked-hinge launch week DS Lite that i could never be bothered returning). Currently bereft of video gaming entertainment. That'll teach me for being an early adopter! I'll post again when i find out whats the score with the wii

finally signed up after this thread made me feel suitably guilty! Ive been a lurker since the cube-europe days and never really got round to signing up. Well now i have. Hopefully i'll post from now on Great site, great forum!
