1. Nope. Some clues then: According to wikipedia, Number 1 was the first game to use the Freescape engine, which allowed the production of full three-dimensional environments using filled polygons. I had a Freescape engine game on the Speccy, but they were also available on Commondore 64, Amstrad, Atari ST and the Amiga. Number 5 is from a series of games that started life as text adventures. The entries in the series are called ____ , ____ II , ____ III , Beyond ____ , ____ Zero, ____ Nemesis, ____: Grand Inquisitor, ____: The Undiscovered Underground and Legends of ____.
2. Iun, I gotta say it: that was a brilliantly entertaining read. Give this man a pay rise. LOL! The game sounds good, but five hours is too short IMO.
3. Heh, so you thought you'd get your own back.
4. Correct again. You're going to get me in trouble at work Mr. Bears! Well, more trouble.
5. These are correct: 2. Mystical ninja 4. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 7. How to be a complete bastard This one isn't correct, but is close: 6. Gold Rush
6. Seven more. I've tried to make them a bit harder (by digging further into the past and by including a couple I haven't ever played). 1. 2. Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon 3 (might have posted this one before). The Incredible Machine 4. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 5. 6. Bagman / Gilligan's Gold 7. How to be a Complete Bastard
7. I remember you saying about the Axe and Spear skills. Based on past RPGs, I didn't think I'd be going back to the game to do extra stuff, unless it was the best RPG I'd ever played, so I felt I needed to boost the weapon I use 99% of the time (the boomerang). Having said that, I did boost spears and axes along the way too, so it may still be possible to get those to the necessary level. I'd need to do some calculating!
8. Thanks Grazza! It was the Sage's Stone that turned it all around. I'm sure I read its description when I acquired it, but I failed to twig just how useful it would be! With that, I was able to keep my party alive when Angelo was in trouble. This is the first time I have recorded game progress on a message board with this much detail and I hope the screenshots helped to liven it up a bit (they were fun to do and the game provided many humorous moments to capture). I was playing this and Chrono Trigger at the same time (not literally of course!) and I don't have much spare time as it is, so the updates weren't as frequent as I'd have liked, but I got there in the end. It was definitely worth playing and if I had more spare time, I would definitely continue playing. Intriguing. Out of interest, how many more hours do you think I'd have to play to get to the next ending?
9. No worries. I actually don't mind being spoiled for the post-completion stuff. It was only while trying to complete the main game that I was trying to avoid FAQs. I don't know if I'll go back to DQ8 for a while. My other children need my attention.
10. All correct. I give up. You guys are all way too good. I'll post a few pixels in each screenshot next time. Scores Epic fail: 7 Coolness Bears: 5 Happenstance: 4 darksnowman: 4 Cube: 3 D_prOdigy: 3 Patch: 2 Fused King: 1 Shino: 1 deathborn: 1 Mundi: 1
11. Correct! Not eating food at the moment then?
12. Thanks mate! Apart from a monster you can capture called 'Hev', I have no idea! I had been trying not to read the end of FAQs for fear of spoiling the ending. killer kirby knows all. Aye aye sir!
13. Scores Epic fail: 6 Coolness Bears: 4 Happenstance: 4 Cube: 3 D_prOdigy: 3 Patch: 2 darksnowman: 2 Fused King: 1 Shino: 1 deathborn: 1 Mundi: 1 A few more (all cropped): 1. 2. 3. 4.
14. Cool, good to see some more interest in the game. For the price, it's a bargain. Progress this weekend: FINISHED!
15. Yes, I've had a wander round there, thanks. I only ever saw Liquid Metal and regular Metal Slimes, not the King Metal Slimes. Maybe I didn't stay there long enough. I was really interested in levelling up when I first saw the Metal Slime (1000 experience, wow!), but now it's something I'd do only if I was really stuck or if I was on a second playthrough maybe.
16. Yes, correct again. You guys are too good. Or my screenshots are too easy. Scores Epic fail: 6 Coolness Bears: 4 Happenstance: 4 Cube: 3 Patch: 2 darksnowman: 2 Fused King: 1 Shino: 1 deathborn: 1 Mundi: 1 D_prOdigy: 1
17. I gave it to Jessica, whose defence was way behind the others. This is due to me choosing to level up for a while without Jessica in my party which was a bit daft. Dragon Quest 8 has the two factors necessary for me to try out different spells and abilities: 1. You have a lot of MP. I don't mind wasting some on trying out new things. 2. A description of what the spell / ability actually does at the point where you can perform it. A bit more progress:
18. Scores Coolness Bears: 4 Epic fail: 4 Cube: 3 Patch: 2 darksnowman: 2 Happenstance: 2 Fused King: 1 Shino: 1 deathborn: 1 Mundi: 1 D_prOdigy: 1 A few more. Should be quite easy methinks. They are all cropped. 1. 2. 3. 4.
19. Prodigy is correct! Scores Coolness Bears: 4 Epic fail: 3 Cube: 3 Patch: 2 darksnowman: 2 Happenstance: 2 Fused King: 1 Shino: 1 deathborn: 1 Mundi: 1 D_prOdigy: 1 I'll probably post some more at lunchtime, unless anyone else wants to have a bash at it. Heh. I had no idea you were so competitive.
20. It's Duke Nukem Forever. Which I know is a bit cheap because it was never released! +1 for Mundi.
21. Cube, all correct. STOOPIDDITTIES, keep trying. 1. Endless Ocean 2. The Curse of Monkey Island 5. Chinatown Wars
