You're welcome. Now go and spend more money on another limited edition DualSense

And when i get PS+, it's usually on a sale or something. £120 a year, and you get a heap of games to play isn't too bad value, if you only went this route for your gaming needs. What's that, £10 a month (ish).
Same.
Gone are my days of being there day one. It was never FOMO for me, though. Didn't care if other people were able to play before I was, I just wanted to experience the games I'm interested in as quickly as possible for myself
While that is still true these days to a certain extent, it's much less intense. If I can't find a good pre-order or release-day offer (i.e. 15-20€ off) I just don't bother until a sale.

where do you stand with DS2? Are you picking it up Day 1?
Super excited.
Day one is a possibility, but only if I can find a copy for 65€ max. I won't pay 80€ for games on launch day anymore. (there's also the added fact that I won't have a lot of time to play end of June and in July). We'll see...

I still have to get the Platinum for the first game. I've played through the Director's Cut last year but after I finished the story I moved on. Maybe I'll make the Platinum a thing until the sequel can be found for cheaper
I might have to change my gaming pledge for 2025 yet again-

Updates to the Nintendo Account User Agreement (the "Agreement") take effect in May 2025, including important changes (in Section 16) to how arbitration is used to resolve disputes. The updated version of the Agreement can be found here. To help you understand what's new, we've highlighted several changes below. But we haven't summarized all the changes, and this is not a substitute for reading the Agreement. You should thoroughly review the updated Agreement to ensure you understand your rights and obligations.
QuoteNOTE: THIS AGREEMENT CONTAINS A BINDING ARBITRATION PROVISION AND CLASS ACTION WAIVER IN SECTION 16 THAT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REQUIRES BOTH YOU AND NINTENDO TO RESOLVE MOST "CLAIMS" (AS DEFINED IN SECTION 16) ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT AS A CLASS ARBITRATION, A CLASS ACTION, ANY OTHER KIND OF REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING, OR BY JURY TRIAL. YOU MAY OPT OUT OF THE BINDING ARBITRATION BY FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE IN SECTION 16(J).
Fuck off, Nintendo.
Hope that at least the EU will push back against this. At the very least, I think this wouldn't hold up in court over here.
Guess the new Joy-Cons will definitely have stick drift

Played Forspoken for about 5 hours and I can say with confidence:
What a boring game...
Deleted it and it's never to be installed again

I've not pushed on much with the narrative on account of coming across a decent levelling spot. There's an optional arena where you can fight the same battles over and over again. Once I got the timing down on the hardest fight, I was coming away with 30k experience in a minute. I stuck around there for a while and went from level 20 to 35. Lovely stuff.
I really don't want to spend money on gaming right now...but come on man, don't tempt me with info like that

Both Australia and Canada were trending to the right until a month ago. Enough people don't want a repeat of America.
While that is true, in recent months the AfD has constantly gained support in polls. And this has been confirmed in the most recent elections in February...
If things continue like this, I fear the worst.

Well, well, well.
German politics even more in shambles.
After the Grand coalition has been approved, the centre right party's chancellor candidate has not been elected today. Which is a first in German history.
A new ballot seems to have been set for tomorrow. This is a terrible situation. The right wing party is celebrating given that they are opposed to the new government and the chancellor candidate.
If the ballot tomorrow fails again, the right wing will get even more support since one of its biggest points is "this proposed coalition sucks".Either way, this is a disaster...doesn't look like the new government will last the next four years and a new election will then give the right wing party another increase in voters...maybe even a majority which would end democracy in Germany.
Why am I living in this timeline?
Edit: "Hilariously", the AfD (right wing party) has been deemed extremist by our constitutional court and voices from the Grand coalition parties have become louder that a process to ban this party should be initiated soon.
Yeah, good luck when you're this divided right at the start...
I hate this.

Will definitely go back to it, though.
After I'm done with The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka.
Well, I did not go back to The Dark Forest after The Metamorphosis
I read Everyone You Hate Is Going to Die: And Other Comforting Thoughts on Family, Friends, Sex, Love, and More Things That Ruin Your Life by Daniel Sloss instead. I love his standup specials and his book is basically an addition to a few of those. Loved it from start to finish.
So now I'm getting back to The Dark Forest. Had to read a few summaries to get back into the world and the few pages I've read since then kicked things up a little bit. Looking forward to seeing where it'll go (and eventually what will happen in the third book).

I'm coming very close to the point where my Blue Prince save data might become "corrupted" (i.e. no progress can be made until/if it gets patched), so I decided to tackle a trophy that has eluded me for years (since the game has been added to PS+ in 2019!)
The Witness - Challenge
In short: You have to solve a random assortment of puzzles. Since you unlock this challenge by beating the game (I think) and basically doing everything else it has to offer, you know how to solve these puzzles. The kicker: You only get 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
In recent years I have tried to get it done many times. To no avail...
Since I've come back from Spain last Monday, I decided to give it yet another go. Took me a few hours to get acquainted with the puzzle types again. Surprisingly, this didn't take up the majority of time during this attempt.
Now...actually solving all puzzles in time...that is the real challenge. Especially when the song that plays during the final minutes is this:
But, as you can imagine, given the fact that I'm writing this post: I did it!
It was a bit anticlimactic, since I completed the challenge before In the Hall of the Mountain King reached its climaxI was surprisingly calm during my successful run. I came close to getting the trophy many times and I noticed my heart beat becoming faster. Not this time
Anyways, there it is:
Coincidentally, this is my 200th Platinum. I don't really care about making certain Platinums special, but it is kinda cool
(And yes, I know there is a way to glitch the final challenge right before the last two puzzles, but I would've done it that way years ago if I wanted to - getting it legitimately is so much more satisfying)

Borderlands is always good fun in co-op.
I doubt I'll tune in, though. Just gonna watch a trailer sometime in the future

OPEN WORLD, BABY!
But yeah, it's Mario Kart. Nothing particularly new and interesting for me.
It'll sell like hot cakes, though, and Nintendo will sell all their games at the higher price from then on.

Platinum was a lot easier than getting 100% trophies on the PS4 release. It only required one play through.
Sounds nice.
I'm looking for a shorter game to play over the weekend before I go on vacation.Any trophies to look out for with this one?

I'm a genius.
That's all I have to say.
(I did have to look up one puzzle solution, though - it's a word I've never heard before and I just couldn't figure it out with the clues given; it's becoming a bit of a theme for me, sadly. Id sai my english is quiet gut, butt i am reeching my limits

This was one of those indie games that got a stupid amount of praise but I couldn't see why. I finished it but found it to be very boring/bang average.
Same here.
One of the most overrated games I've ever played. Slightly behind Undertale.

This game is ridiculous.
Reached what triggered the credits again. This time...no credits but more clues.
MORE CLUES!BUT I NEED EVEN MORE CLUES!
There's so much I need to figure out, I have so many threads going on...it's crazy
Sorry, Baldur's Gate 3, your endgame needs to wait

Nonono, I'm right.
I do need the help of a thesaurus, though. Gonna put the explanation in a spoiler, just in case:
SpoilerThere are two pictures/drawings in each room (or rather in each space of the blue print for the manor).
I have to figure out certain word pairs. For example:
Drawing 1: a card: Queen - or "Face"
Drawing 2: a card: AceThere's a clue (or rather the solution) I found, that tells me to figure out a letter that is "extra" in one of the word pairings. In this case "F".
Now I found another pair:
Drawing 1: hands with prayer beads
Drawing 2: a crowbarHad to look up synonyms for crowbar, because otherwise it wouldn't make sense (and because I didn't know any synonym for that
)
"Pray" and "Pry" - so the extra letter is "A"So yeah. Not ashamed to use an online thesaurus for this one. Gotta figure out 44 of those letters

Looking around the internet, it seems this is the reaction from most people.
Well, the "ending" was a little...unsatisfying.
Reaching it was hinted at being such a major thing, but in the end it was...nothing? I guess I have to reach it again and see whether I can actually interact with things then.
Anyways, I figured out another safe code because I'm a fucking genius.
There's still a few "estate-wide" things I just can't figure out. One particular puzzle is annoying, because you're confronted with it in every single room
I just don't know what to do with it.
I also feel like RNG will become a nightmare eventually...I assume certain combinations of rooms have to be connected and if you don't get the perfect draw...well, you're fucked.
Haven't dabbled with those rooms, though, so maybe there is a way to mitigate RNG (I hope there is).-

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company suing Pocket Pair (Palworld developers) for patent infringement
in General Gaming Discussion
Posted · Edited by drahkon
Looks like Nintendo sued them over gameplay mechanics that they (and/or GameFreak, TPC? whoever) patented.
Say what you want about Palworld but patenting gameplay mechanics is a ridiculously shitty thing to do. Case in point: Warner Bros. patenting the Nemesis system back in the day...it was an awesome idea and if other devs were allowed to improve on that we would've some really cool games now with that system. But noooooooo, Monolith Productions is gone and thanks to that patent we'll never see anything like the Nemesis system ever again (or until the patent runs out? I don't know how that shit works
).
Nintendo can fuck right off.
