  1. Finished Act 1 after 30h, which is 10h less than the first time I finished it (that playthrough does not exist anymore, as mentioned before). Not surprising as I still knew most of what to do, so the exploration part has been cut short :p

Been making my way through the second Act and it's been a lot of fun. The "gimmick" was pretty annoying at first but it became a non-issue very quickly.

It's ridiculous how easy the fights have become, though. Playing on Tactician and the early game was pretty difficult (not as much as during my first playthrough, because I didn't know much about the mechanics back then) but since reaching level 4-5 with my group, it's been a cakewalk.
Occasionally one of my party members "dies" (reaches 0 HP and gets the condition "downed" - read it up, if you want to know what the hell that's about :D) because some enemies get like 3 actions in one turn but it's never been a big deal.

Haven't progressed the main quest(s) a lot in Act 2. As usual with BG3, the side-quests take the main stage for a while :D

Yeah, with you playing with your mates, you'll be able to get through it even quicker if you trade your investigations.

I doubt I'll start with the Platinum hunt before the inevitable expansion, though :p

I'm currently taking my sweet time with the game. Just reached Chapter 2 after 10 hours.

  3. Seems like lots of people didn't enjoy the most recent episode. I loved it. :p
Watched it with a friend and we both went: "Excuse me, what the hell?" at the end. :D

That reveal recontextualised a lot. Makes me want to watch S1 for the 800th time

  4. First hunt complete! It's good to be back! :D

As mentioned, I went with Hunting Horn. And I had no idea what I was doing
I read that it works similar to how it did in Monster Hunter: World but I haven't used it back then. I was a little confused with all the special moves like "store notes" and "encore" so I just went ahead and buffed myself and pummeled tongue-fiend into oblivion.

Decided to go with Balanced mode, 40fps/120Hz and it looks and runs fine! No complaints, yet.

Anyways, gotta take care of some things now because my flatmate is throwing a party tonight. Gonna play some more tomorrow :peace:

The PS4 version recently got a free PS5 version upgrade. I can see me playing this again. I think it was 2021 when I last played it.

Yeah, I remember you loving it because you went for the Platinum :D

There's no way I'm going back to the game. I mentioned it before, but it's the only game that I've played so far in my entire life that gave me trouble with depth perception. :(

It had a very steep learning curve. I know a lot of people didn't care for it.

I played halfway through the first game's campaign and just thought it was bland. Didn't really care for anything that was happening.

Maybe now I'm more into the violence, though. Seems like a good outlet given my intense aversion to what's happening in the world these days :D

how I feel watching the latest episode

Watched the episode with my new flatmate. She's seen it before and was basically just watching my reactions.
I think mine were similar to yours :p

Did not expect to get where we're at with the show this "early". We still have three episodes to go...what the hell will happen next?

  8. Only finished two games in February:

Sayonara Wild Hearts, which I sadly did not enjoy.
Slay the Spire Downfall with The Guardian. Man, these extra characters are a joy to play. Currently working my way through Ascensions with The Hexaghost.

This month I've played and Platinum'ed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. Yes, I cheesed some of the trophies because holy cow, some of those old games are terrible :p

the lack of a truly challenging endgame in the launch version

Which is why my friends and I are waiting.
I was considering getting it day-one, but given my weekend plans I decided against it. And now with the reviews pointing out some issues, I'm glad with my decision :p

Obviously you're a HUUUUUUUUUGE Armored Core fan and got it specifically for the PS1 games coming to the service, right?

    RIGHT?!

    :p

For now, it's just to play CoD with a friend and maybe SaGa Frontier Remastered :p

  11. Basically only played this during February, albeit "only" for 15 hours :p

Managed to deal with a lot of Act 1 a lot faster than during my first, abandoned playthrough. Just reached Grymforge and if I remember correctly, there will be a very difficult boss fight soon.

Got a few more things to take care of outside, though. The Goblin Camp still awaits and I should destroy handle it diplomatically and then destroy it before moving on within Grymforge. :D

My ranger is in good companion with Karlach the Barbarian Thrower, Gale the Sorcerer and Shadowheart the Cleric. As always, the early game is pretty tough on Tactician but once you reach level 4 it gets much easier. At level 5, most normal fights in Act 1 have been a cakewalk.
