I see what you're saying though but I just don't agree. Its this idea that people are fixated with that because this was/is a GC game, its a port with novelty features tacked on and not very original or innovative... Since when have you had this much input into the mechanics of a game other than just pressing buttons? Also how about Tekken 3, how is that game so revolutionary and original?

Just a quick question in reference to Solitanzes post above, is it possible for the games average to increase if for the last 9 reviews before it reaches 20 if the reviews are upwards of 9.5 onwards, or does it continually need to get 10 [100%] in order to just keep the game on 95.7%?

Thats actually a reasonable list and not completely beyond reality. I'd be happy if the list in the final game is similar to this.

Anyway, back on topic, I think 9/10 is an excellent score for Red Steel considering the criticism the games been copping left right and centre about every single aspect of the game, I just want to see some more scores from other gaming publications to see if it consistently scores this well, but regardless of how it fares, the mark will be boosted considerably because you can see the developer has gone to a lot of effort to make this a polished game, and its getting a purchase from me because of it. I wouldn't care if the game only got 6.8/10, i'd still buy it, looks like a lot of fun. In regards to Monkey Ball, a little lower than I expected but you know what the possible reasons for the score are, no need for me to repeat them.

Theres no flaws with the control scheme as such, all he is saying is that basically theres a learning curve to using the Wii control scheme as you actually have to aim at the sensor bar as opposed to aiming directly on the TV screen, but when eventually mastered, it is awesome with pin point preciseness. Swordfight has a "natural lag" to recognise the motion so thats not a flaw. Most reviewers are professional gamers, at most the game would be penalised .1 off the score but nothing more. But after all, the target audience for this game isn't for everyone, its for the experienced gamer.
