  1. Man, Sony really need to get their act together on when these things start. They typically start a few minutes late, and this one they told us starts at 22:00...but the countdown on the stream is until 22:05? Also, they've been a little sneaky and only just mentioned late this evening that the event will be a bit over 20 minutes long... ....which there's no mention of in the original blog post (which is even linked in this updated tweet?). I'm getting some really weird vibes from this one. Here's to hoping I'm wrong.
  2. Well well well, time for some Helldivers 2 tonight then! Kind of hoping the Direct got the third party remasters/remakes out of the way... You know, other than Battlefront II. Give it to me, Sony!
  3. Huh, a gameplay trailer suddenly appears! Demo available now, with save data able to be carried over to the full release:
  4. I KNEW I'D ALREADY MADE A THREAD FOR THIS! Damn search bar made it hell to find...and it's time to retitle the thread from Gallery to Museum! As announced in today's Direct, construction is now scheduled to be completed in March 2024 (so, still in line - just about - with the previously announced "by end of FY23" goal). Super excited to see how this turns out!
  5. Yeah, I don't feel like there's much to really say. In for Thousand Year Door, have some interest in Another Code Recollection (just based on all the good things I've heard about the original games), but otherwise agree with the sentiment of @drahkon and @Dcubed: that was a LOT of remakes/remasters. And none of them were Explorers of Sky or Battlefront II, Takahashi, you heathen! Definitely winding down on the Switch, we have a lot on the way and I'm definitely picking and choosing battles - I think the only games I'm 100% on getting (Switch exclusive, at least) that's announced for the rest of its slate are Super Mario RPG and Thousand Year Door. I've got other games to go back to, but honestly, 2023 has been STACKED and the first half of 2024 is already STACKED, so honestly, middling as I thought that Direct was, I'm kind of happy I'm not coming away with a long list of games to play for a change. I already have a long list of games to play. Always have done.
  6. THEY PULLED THE THOUSAND DOOR TRIGGER - FINALLY! IT LOOKS FREAKING BEAUTIFULLLLL A lot of love for the Mario RPGs of late, to put it lightly! Super excited to finally experience this game
  7. Great get, I know those that have played it are putting it in the GOTY conversation!
  8. Switch exclusive!
  9. FINALLY A DATE! FINALLY! APRIL 23RD 2024! THE WORLD WILL FINALLY UNDERSTAND (also 2024 H1 becomes stacked with yet another JRPG)
  10. Oh man that music exclusively available to NSO members
  11. Previously announced but now we finally get a better look and a real title, aaaaaaaand...what a title it is?
  12. Thought this was total Final Fantasy Tactics bait...but Vanillaware means otherwise! Also coming to other platforms (listed in the tags)
  13. Freaking FF Tactics bait lmao EDIT: I take it back. Atlus/Vanillaware?!
  14. Konami and WayForward teaming up for this Contra reimagining is not what I was expecting!
  15. Bet @RedShell is chuffed right now
  16. I mean...who else would it be starring? Happy Valentine's!
  17. Trailer from today's Direct: Looking good
  18. Princess Peach: Showtime! coming 22nd March 2024! This looks like good fun! Kung Fu Peach looks rad
  19. Announced during today's Direct!
  20. How can you not love this cast?
  21. Yep, the actual last episode
  22. Well, I made my solo build...and yeah, I figured I was planning to start my co-op playthrough with friends on the Friday anyways, so have left it as it is and decided I'd focus on playing the game that way first. Then, mine and my group's first session with the game got delayed...by over a month Basically, me and a friend bought the DE on Day 1, he played it pretty much nonstop launch weekend (I was busy wrecking mechs), and while not fully sold on the combat, yeah, he's fully onboard. Then last Monday we hopped on with another friend in our group after we talked about all the customisation options (that and dialogue choices are why I feel like he's in), and ahead of wanting to start our sessions last Friday, all three of us - while in chat - got to work on our character looks and tried to figure out our classes (and figure out if we'd have any gaps to fill), so all of that got screenshot and is ready to go; I'm super happy with how my character turned out! We did this for hours and had an absolute blast, even going so far as making backstories for our characters and respective Guardians. Eventually we realised we just wanted to hop into the game, but our first session wasn't planned until Friday. We then had a brief talk when we realised that our fourth group member could potentially have commitment issues to the game (he's the one in our group who always leaves first, sometimes has other commitments on Friday nights, etc.) and so we got him into the chat...for him to tell us he'd planned his finances poorly for the month and couldn't afford the game, but his girlfriend would buy it for him at the end of the month..but we can't start at the end of the month because one of my friends is getting laser eye surgery on that Friday (this was booked long before we'd discussed getting the game, and plus: priorities), so we're going to give him a week to rest, and so now the plan is to dive in on the first Friday of October (the 6th). I properly grilled my friend who caused the delay to make sure he's even interested, explaining that the other three of us are ready to hard commit to this game, and starting a co-op campaign with the four of us for him to not turn up consistently/drop out could cause problems purely from a gameplay perspective (not to mention it'd be a little bit annoying for him to not commit to it after delaying the start of our campaign). In short: I'm ready to go, it's just on hold Personally, I still have some doubts over how much we'll commit to and play the game. This is the same group I convinced to play Monster Hunter World, we had a blast with our first session being 10+ hours long...and then we just shelved it for a year and a half (with me and another person in the group pushing for it every now and then), and by the time we got back to it, shocker, we couldn't get back into it. Whatever happens, it is what it is. Worst case I'll end up needing to bin off the co-op campaign in favour of a solo one, though personally I'd rather experience it co-op first and have a more thorough experience the second time around, rather than going the other way around. Though, I'll admit, I just want to play my instrument at awful times in the background during serious cutscenes already! If/when we start
  23. Attack on Titan The Final Season Final Chapters Special 2 (good lord am I not going to miss typing that out) premieres on 4th November 2023: The end is nigh! ( FINALLY ! ! ! )
  24. Just completed NG++ and got the third ending, and all I can say is: wooooooooooow. Love the approach they took to the other endings in this. Obviously it's down to the game being mission-based, but when the paths diverge on subsequent playthroughs, they REALLY diverge, and that means a whole host of new missions and so much more context. That final boss fight had me grinning from ear to ear beat it first time, too! All that remains for my Plat is to get the rest of the collectibles (through replaying the NG and NG+ missions for Chapter 5), and then it will be a case of getting S-Ranks, and that'll be that. I'll make a longer post with more cohesive thoughts on, and videos of, my time with NG+ and NG++ once it's all wrapped up, but yeah...hell of a game!
