  1. Don't bother powering up any Pokemon until you're at least level 20. You just waste stardust and will then find a much better version a couple of days later. Especially don't waste it on a Weedle :p
  2. Went to a Pokemon Go meet today which involved 6k of walking and hundreds of lures being dropped along the walk in between 30 minute stops at strategic places in Bristol. Had a great time and met some really nice people, it is this community aspect that makes the game so utterly fantastic! Roughly 200 people turned up at various points throughout the day, even had an ITV West news reporter filming parts of it! Caught a Tentacruel which I was happy with but the highlight of the day was evolving my Magikarp into a Gyarados. That was even better than the Blastoise I found 20 metres outside my front door at 8:30 this morning This is what my top Pokemon look like now... So close to a 2000+ CP Pokemon! I'm about 60k XP from reaching level 25 and have roughly 60 Pokemon ready to evolve whilst using a Lucky Egg so will hit 25 tomorrow/Monday. I then start work on Tuesday so my play time will seriously reduce but my one target before starting work was to have a Gyarados so I'm happy I managed to achieve that!
  3. Starting to get really pissed off with the fact that trying to use a Pokemon Trainer Club account means a lot less downtime compared to using a Google login. Nintendo need to sort their shit out with the PTC!
  4. I've probably deleted about 100 pokeballs today alone Went for a four hour walk today, headed to a spot I had heard that Scythers spawn and literally within a second of entering the park one popped up, caught another 3 within about 20 minutes! The heat today was crazy though, full on sweating after a few hours, must've smelt lovely for all the people sharing my bus ride home Heading back out this evening to meet some friends to catch some more 'Mon, hopefully the Dragonite will spawn again.
  5. I can't log in with my Pokemon Trainer Club account yet people using Google+ can apparently get on just fine, really getting pissed off with it now :/
  6. Nearby was bugged for me yesterday morning but started working again after a few restarts.
  7. Team update... Was so fucking hyped with that Arcanine! I've had two Growlithe hatch from eggs which gave me enough candy to evolve the second one into that beast! Only walked just under 8 miles today but explored some different parts of Bristol that I've never been to before, including an awesome park with a huge tower and mini waterfall. Am currently level 22. The XP needed to level up is getting crazy now, for 21 you needed 50,000 XP, 22 was 75,000 and to reach 23 you need 100,000! I currently have 39,000 of that 100k and have saved up a load of Pokemon to evolve which I'll do just after using a lucky egg for some serious gains Edit: Also, none of those Starmie know any water moves which kinda sucks!
  8. Damn, just need to be lucky with the eggs then I guess! I got a Pinsir from one today but it was only 800ish CP, so nowhere near that Lapras of yours!

  10. What level are you @Serebii? I'm close to hitting level 19 after another day wondering around Bristol, the gaps in between levels are starting to get larger and larger, 18 to 19 is 25,000 xp! Caught my first Pikachu, followed by a fair few more. Over half way to being able to evolve him into a Raichu.

  14. Another day of playing Pokemon Go is done and it was the best one yet! Went from level 11 to level 16, hatched a load of eggs, caught a load of Pokemon and met my first group of people also playing the game. Got on the bus at 9 this morning and headed toward the centre of Bristol, love the fact that it's possible to play it on the bus. Got off half way there and decided to walk the rest of the way and was overwhelmed by the amount of PokeStops and gyms compared to around where I live! Took my time walking to the gym (real life gym, not Pokemon gym ), took over a couple of gyms (Pokemon gyms) and actually specifically hunted down my first Pokemon, a 830CP Victreebel. Got to the gym at around 11, did some weights started doing some cardio then thought "fuck this, why am I doing cardio inside when I can just walk for hours and hours catching Pokemon", so promptly left. Tried to find a Dragonair that appeared on my nearby tab but couldn't get closer than three footprints and it eventually disappeared, this annoyed me as I guess they're pretty damn rare! Walked around some more before finding that my team owned the gym at the planetarium so spent a while helping to level it up before I realised that a group of people just round the corner were doing the same. Had a chat with them for a while before we all went our separate ways. I started the long walk back home, catching Pokemon as I went and eventually got back just before 4. So nearly eight hours of walking around playing Pokemon Go... This is what my top 'Mon look like now after doing a clear out (had about 30 Zubats...) and powering up...

  16. Loading up FitBit and finding that I'd got home with this beautiful step count made walking around for half the day worth it @Blade / @Animal / @AnyOneElseWhoHasPostedABodyFatPrintOut

  18. Out for another 2 1/2 hours this evening, got back three minutes before the football started Hatched a Magmar and an Omanyte and caught a 268CP Eevee which took me an age to catch because I had to restart the app about 7 times as it kept glitching out on me. If it had been any other Pokemon I just would've walked off! Am now up to level 11. Love that this game is getting me out and about so much, I've done over 25,000 steps today and walked 11 miles!

  20. Yeah I did some research after my post last night and realised this, thought I'd healed my Hypno up but apparently it was missing a couple of HP. Went out again this morning, completely drained my phone battery in two hours! Took over four gyms and left a lower level 'mon at each of them (one of which has already been kicked out - I swear I'm the only one around here who chose the Blue Team ), figured I should keep my Hypno with me as my powerhouse since he's now in the 600's. A lot of PokeStops and gyms nearest my house are on walking paths so my phone signal keeps dropping at annoying times, have missed out on a few catches because of this. Tomorrow is Monday though which means gym in the morning followed by a walk around central Bristol and slowly back towards my house. Hoping to see a lot of Pokemon/PokeStop/Gyms around the centre! What level are people? I just hit level 9 this morning, gonna try and get to level 10 before tomorrow but with the Tennis, Football and waiting on a delivery not sure if I'll get to go out again today.

  22. Where are people getting their Body Fat % measured? I've lost just over a stone in a couple of months and have another couple of months before I'm off to America, want to get in as good a shape as possible for the beach but am only basing things purely on weight at the moment.

  24. So I just got back from another walk, hatched a Charmander and a Weedle and found a 5k step egg, caught a load of Pokemon as well. Beat my first gym leader but there's a few things about battles/gyms that I'm a bit puzzled about. Firstly I battled a level 170ish Oddish with my level 400ish Hypno, so massive power and type advantage but still only just beat him. I would've thought it would be a walkover. Is anyone else finding this with their battles? Secondly once I beat the gym I couldn't then leave my Hypno there to defend it, I had to leave a 172 Pidgeotto which I knew would be beaten pretty quickly (and sure enough before I had even got home he had been chucked out of the gym). Is it always the case that you can't leave the Pokemon that beat the gym there to then defend it? I love the fact that because of this game I've spent nearly three hours out walking around today! I've even ordered a battery case for my phone so it'll last longer
