  1. I know and I use it well to ignore the one flamebaiter in here.
  2. There's no consistency. Some say it's down to different economies. Well if you take The Minish Cap which I'm looking forward to buying in the forthcoming sale on the eShop. The price converts to the corresponding denomination amount across all 3 territories and yet other games on there have massive discrepancies in price. The same with amiibo. Why? I'm not picking an argument, I'm just asking. So stop getting all defensive. Part of the point of the Minish Cap reference is that at €5 I'll jump at the price(I've said numerous times that if GBA games were €5 I'd buy a lot more) but if amiibo is €15 as opposed to €10 that it converts to I won't be jumping at anything. I might buy one out of curiosity at €10 and I would have said the Samus one was the best but the picture of the new Zelda one looks even nicer. It's not just about €15, it's also knowing I've to pay more than everybody else in other territories. I hate being ripped off. There's no confirmation of €15 but it's like those other situations where prices are rounded up to the nearest 5 or 0. I think €10 or lower was the magic number but it won't happen.
  3. I think we should sign Serebii up to a class on Ontology.
  4. If that's all they are, collectibles, like you say, fair enough. I'll have no problem whatsoever with them. But we don't know yet fully what Nintendos intentions are with them. They could have a fairer conversion rate too. They're no doubt made in China so why the States gets a better price than us ain't right. Add up the saving on the 12 launch figures and there's your copy of Smash Wii U easily paid for.
  5. Hey more power to you. Why not be ripped off? Sure it's great. Who cares that $13 dollars is under £8. I'm sure the € price will be more ridiculous, it usually is. If the price was fair I might be more amenable to them. Still waiting for one good reason as to why we need amiibo? Yes I get that some people like collectibles but I play games. It's a branching out of merchandising but they are not needed to play games. Nor should they be. People complain that the gamepad is a gimmick. I disagree, it just hasn't shown its full potential or more accurately Nintendo hasn't shown its full potential. Amiibo is a gimmick.
  6. Why doesn't the card stuff exist here? You don't "need" amiibo to unlock things. They're forcing that upon us if indeed that's what they do. Yes the content can exist without a figure. Put it on the disc and don't hide it unless you have a key(amiibo). Yes the article is full of fail on Nintendos part. I'm not going through it all, especially not for someone like you who refuses to deal with reality but I'll highlight these bolded sections from it: Nintendo Network Will Be The Real Deal When They Are Ready To Unleash It Nintendo Will Try And Keep Every Hit Game ‘Fresh’ With DLC Until The End of its System’s Lifespan Miyamoto Has More Time To Look For the Next Big Hit How long does it take and Nintendo Network is not all it could or should be? Super Mario 3D World and Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, 2 major examples beg to differ Miyamoto has had 2 and 1/2 years and still nothing(2 awful small projects and who's even working on Starfox?) You're the one who is biased and can never accept any criticism of Nintendo. Most other people here see the good and the bad, myself included that Nintendo do. I don't need to take crap from you a confirmed liar.
  7. I went looking for images of an NFC card, then a Nintendo NFC card and came across this article: http://nintendoenthusiast.com/article/iwata-miyamotos-press-briefing-reading-between-the-lines/ It's 2 and a half years old and shows how things have not worked out, is full of contradictions and unfulfilled promises. I think it's a very interesting read. Anyway my point was if they really need to do NFC, just give us a card. The only good thing I see about NFC is if you wanted to go to a friends house and use an NFC card to transfer saved data. But it's not very likely and there's other ways around it. Log into your Wii U from your friends or access a cloud server with your data or transfer to a 3DS and back out again when you get there. But if they used a card they couldn't milk it for all its worth with 12 figures x £11 a pop to start with. Other than what I said about transferring data there is no real need for them that I can think of. Can anybody think of a reason we "need" amiibo? Edit: I thought of one other reason. If you went to a game retailer and used your amiibo to buy credit and transfer it when you get home but that was mentioned in the article I think. That would be good if you're a kid and don't have a credit card. Would there be a transaction fee though? The shop would want to get something for providing a service. Doesn't bother me, I just use my credit card whenever I need it and it's far easier than going all the way into town to top up using an amiibo. So again any real need?
  8. What can I say? Great minds think alike and yep there's not much else up for discussion.
  9. http://mynintendonews.com/2014/08/29/monster-hunter-4-ultimate-new-nintendo-3ds-xl-bundle-announced-for-japan/ http://mynintendonews.com/2014/09/03/heres-a-closer-look-at-the-new-nintendo-3ds-featured-on-capcom-stream/ That looks really nice. That works out at roughly €185 for the New 3DS XL and the game. I wouldn't be optimistic about this coming to Europe and not a chance in hell it'll be that price. But it would be good if both happen.
  10. You're right and I hope don't force us into buying these to get the full experience.
  11. How did we ever manage before Amiibo/Skylanders/Infinity? Oh that's right, we played normal games.
  12. Shame the region locking rumour wasn't true. It would have given the New 3DS some extra legs and convinced others to make the upgrade. Aren't Sony and Microsofts new consoles region free? I'm sure that'll help them and DS was region free, Nintendos most successful platform ever.
  13. Edit: Yes they were. “In addition to our Warriors series fan base, Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda is also a very popular series with a large fan base, and I think it will become a great new market because of The Legend of Zelda’s legion of fans overseas, we are aiming to sell more than one million copies worldwide.” http://www.technobuffalo.com/2014/05/20/tecmo-koei-hoping-to-sell-1-million-copies-of-hyrule-warriors/
  14. Weren't they also expecting Hyrule Warriors to sell at least 1 million copies and isn't Japan Dynasty Warriors biggest market? They better hope the U.S. and European Zelda fans buy into this big time.

  16. Well that's the date I'm predicting.
  17. They should do the same ad theme for Europe. It'll be interesting to see what they do end up making.
  18. Super Smash Bros. for 3DS commercial (Japan)
  19. While Uniteds first 11 would be strong, their second 11 I think is the weakest of any of the top clubs. Was looking at the fixtures for September and they have QPR, Leicester and West Ham. Van Gaal has had it so easy thus far. That really should be 9 from 9 points but then you've messed up so far. They'll have played all 3 promoted teams in their first 6 games. Imagine if you'd actually played someone decent?
  20. What if I was born in Kyoto, then would I be allowed to be biased towards Nintendo?
  21. No I'm not buying a PS4 or Xbox1. They may not be scum but I've no time for them. I have a PC but it wouldn't be capable of playing new releases.
  22. Relax. I was only joking. I knew that would rile the masses.
