  1. inXile entertainment Acquires Console Rights to Hit Internet Game Line Rider!

Tuesday December 19, 12:00 pm ET

Nintendo DS & Nintendo Wii Games Scheduled for Spring 2007

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Having already amassed a worldwide cult following on the internet, inXile entertainment announced today that it has acquired the rights to the hugely addictive 'toy' Line Rider and that the popular game will soon be available for both the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii. Since its first appearance on the Web (http://www.official-linerider.com) on September 23, 2006, Line Rider has attracted over 15 million viewers to date and has spawned over 11,000 video posts on YouTube.com. Anticipated to ship in Spring 2007, Line Rider for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii from inXile entertainment will retain all the fun and thrills of the addictive Web version, but will also include new added features.

Line Rider has received accolades from media worldwide. Time.com commented, "Line Rider is becoming one of the most popular flash games on the web," and The Wall Street Journal called Line Rider "Online gamers' new addiction." The Toronto Star noted that Line Rider was "a deceptively simple online game' and stated that it has become "the latest Internet addiction."

"I have been around the interactive entertainment industry long enough to have seen similar phenomenon like Tetris and Bejeweled become massive international hits, and Line Rider has all the elements to do the same," said Brian Fargo, chief executive officer of inXile entertainment. "Line Rider is like a fully animated Etch-A-Sketch® and will be perfect for the Nintendo DS and Wii."

Fargo continued, "The amazing thing is that it has appeal to almost everyone. I've watched 6 year-olds and adults play Line Rider and both were thoroughly entertained and captivated. Easy to pick up and play, and highly addictive, we are very pleased to be bringing Line Rider to video game players."

Described as a "toy" by its creator Bostjan Cadez, Line Rider allows players to construct their own track filled with as many ramps, hills, and jumps as they can imagine utilizing a pencil tool. Once the player is done creating their course, they can send a virtual sledder down the route until he wipes out. The possibilities in Line Rider are only limited by physics and the player's imagination with an almost endless number of variations and replay.

"Line Rider began its life as a project I did for illustration class," commented Bostjan Cadez, who created Line Rider in his native Slovenia. "As much as people see it as a game I think of it as a toy because there is no score and no one wins or loses while playing Line Rider. I'm looking forward to working with inXile entertainment on the new Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii versions as they will bring added gameplay and features."

    This....looks great!

To be fair though it should come on the Virtual Console or something.

  2. Yeah. I love the new Zelda, despite minor niggles. It's an absolutely fantastic adventure and the best 3D action adventure game I've played in forever. It shows the quality when we aren't nitpicking this against other games, but other Zelda games.

Exactly. The standard is ridiculously high and I think reviewers (e.g. Gamespot) tend to forget this.

I think it's the most FUN Zelda ever personally. It's not as groundbreaking as Ocarina of Time was, not as magical as Majora's Mask and not as unique as Wind Waker but i've definately enjoyed it the most in terms of the action.

EA will bring the first Medal of Honor game to the Wii in March 2007 in the form of Medal of Honor Vanguard.

Also releasing on the PS2, MoH Vanguard will give you control of a corporal in more WWII-themed battles, including Nazi face-offs in Sicily and Germany.

We think it's safe to assume that the Wii version will control in a similar way to Red Steel and Call of Duty 3, but it'll be interesting to see how well EA's programming boffins deal with the new control system.

Don't know if Wii is getting MoH: Airbourne aswell as this. I hope the fact that it's on PS2 aswell doesn't mean the developers wil be lazy with the visuals.

  4. meh meh meh meh MEH.

I don't think that line up is all that impressive really. For me at least I can't see me buying one of those games, as i'm possibly going to skip WarioWare for now. Metroid Prime 3 really should be released before the summer. Getting Mario Party 8 earlier than expected is good news and all but then its hardly a whole new franchise making outstanding use of the wiimote to demonstrate its capabilities is it?

  5. Thats alright then. Tell what is annoying, when someone tells you they will lead you to the place you are looking for and they take baby steps to get there. I usually get sick of them and just run off and find the place myself.

lol classic. It was annoying but funny at the same time. Nothing beats when you're trying to get cash from running the lucky hit stall in terms of trigerring your patience anger though

  6. Snow Patrol - Eyes Open is without a doubt my favourite of the year. I love so many of the songs on the album, and yet the music is so varied.

And although they didn't come out this year, Dabookerman got me into j-rock group l'arc en ciel and now they're possibly my favourite group full stop. The two albums I have (off the internet) are Awake and Smile

  7. Just wrapped up all my presents i've bought so far, and realised I haven't really bought much at all. I was planning on just getting one thing for my Grandpa but now I feel I need to get one more thing for each person.

Anyone seen Black Christmas yet? Let me know what it's like anyone that does because i like going to see horrors at the cinema with some friends, especially this time of year. I'm going to see Happy Feet on Thursday...not expecting much but hey it's christmassy.

2 lessons left till the christmas holidays :D (Got a shitload of work to do over it though :()

  8. Meh to all you turn based haters. I like both turn-based(e.g. Skies) and real-time (e.g. ToS) if they're done well. There are many pros of turn-based, the battles are more strategic, and you can use the whole group.

    News:

-Pokemon Diamond and Pearl said to be released this spring

-Mario Party 8 feature showing the first table (donkey kong theme).

-Trioncube and lunar knights previews, both to be released in February.

-Prince of Persia confirmed to be The Two Thrones

-Heatseekers Wii preview. Producer says they want it to play like afterburner. Says you rack up triple digit kills in some levels. Control scheme looks decent.

    -Hotel Dusk preview

-Dialog in this game is probably one of the most important aspects

-Each time you respond to someone you are given many choices on the dialog tree.

-You can be rude, nice, call someone on a lie, chitchat, threaten people, back off, noisy, non intrusive and many others. and example is the opening dialog in the hotel that can go at least “10 different ways.â€

-Its very much a noir style game but its set in the 70s so it’s a little more modern.

-The info comes from the localization team.

-The do a ‘revisiting the classics’ piece on Earthbound. Amirox would be proud. They don’t know if earthbound will be released on the VC.
