As I'm sure some of you will remember, as we approached Xmas last year I brought up this subject. As interesting a topic as it is anyhow, it's made even more interesting when you put some money on it. Last year I bet 15 quid that Need For Speed Underground 2 would be the highest selling game in the week before Xmas, it won me 130 pounds or something like that. So I've been looking into betting this year. The odds aren't up yet, but having emailed Ladbrokes.com (who I bet with last year) they've informed me the odds are going up tomorrow. Now, keep in mind something multiformat has by far the best chance of shifting the most copies, any ideas on what it'll be people? I'm not certain, but is there a new Need For Speed game out? (Most Wanted or something). If so that's got to be an obvious pick. From my experience last year it makes sense to place your bet as early as possible as you're most likely to get the best odds early on if it turns out you've made a wise choice. If you are going to place a bet, set yourself a limit you know you can afford to lose. There's no such thing as a sure thing.

Do you not find you end up with a pile of half-played games? I feel like a filthy slut if I buy two games within a few days of each other, nevermind more than that. I've bought three games for my DS over the past three weeks and feel that's pushing it a bit. Granted, one of them is Advance Wars which takes a bit of playing, and one of them is Mario Kart, so I could hardly wait.

Got my ticket for Friday night, 10pm. Was going to be 12:01am Friday morning but someone who was supposed to be going couldn't make that time, so we said we'd go Friday night, which they cancelled on once we'd got tickets. Idiot.

Just had 20 mins on COD2 as consolation for MK DS not being out until tomorrow. Wasn't amazingly impressed, though it was good hearing the British accents for a change, the shout of "Bloody wankers!" put a grin on my face. I'm not upset in the slightest at the prospect of not having a 360 at launch so far, guess I need to look out for PD0 and see if that changes things.
