So they're just random free event stuff? Getting their own "Episode" like Delta? Just part of the story of Alola? In a post-game Kalos region? What? Anyone...?

I kind of expected the mini dungeons what with LBW and all. Hoped for more dungeons, though. HOWEVER...since Zelda games always have competing themes, there's likely a "dark world" style alternate set of dungeons. Maybe underground? Fantasy side of the dungeon on top, buried underneath there's a forgotten technology style dungeon. So eight dungeons. Just a theory I've had for a while...not based on much but, meh. Final dungeon separate (just four main dungeons would be less than MM, since with the last one it's five total).

Ash...would there NEED to be though? The first announcement was about the only playable game, Zelda. Nowhere it said just Zelda being show, in any form, over E3 season. It was obvious others would be at least shown...yet anyone saying that and pointing out the only was just about there being only one playable game/Zelda on that first day (or maybe they meant that specific half of the day, which was the only unclear bit) got so much flack and treated like trolls/garbage by a huge percentage of forums. Now even on this site people are backtracking pretending words were unclear or have won some sort of war with Nintendo for the rest of us poor gamers (other sites that is, it's bloody hilarious the lengths people will go to rather than just admit they're wrong and misunderstood). Even though it was clear as fuck they meant only one playable game that day or at the start of that day (Pokemon S/M is a mystery though...it's been rumoured/said to be at E3 for months). The reasons the updates came out like they did is because Zelda is their focus, they want all thoughts on that. Last Wii U/First NX game? If I'm wrong? I'll admit it.

They said the same about DS. It's just a way of sugar-coating it for people.

I don't know why some of you are still going on about "only Zelda." It was always "only one PLAYABLE game; Zelda." There's likely ALWAYS been trailers for other stuff planned for later days. As for Pokemon S/M; last minute? No idea. I could've sworn we've known about E3 Pokemon for months, it was just never confirmed on Nintendo's list until now. The "playable first five minutes" is probably most definitely new if people at the show other than Treehouse can play it. Unless... You need to look at it from Nintendo's perpsective; this isn't just one of the last Wii U games, it's the FIRST NX game. Everything else comes after it in their eyes. I truly can't fathom why anyone would believe only one game would be shown over E3 (especially since they never even said that...at no time did they say one game shown only "just Zelda") It has to be the focus. It's a Zelda game that will sell on two consoles, likely their biggest game EVER, and will be a huge money earner. If I were them I'd make it the star focus of the show and put everything else to later days trailer too...and it would be perfectly understandable and not some "those misunderstanding and whining internet guys Nintendo ALWAYS ignores...they won it for us this time and got Nintendo to change their mind! YIPPEE!!" I'm not saying it ISN'T true (one never knows), but c'mon "what" is more likely...? Internet misunderstand (even if their dialogue was obvious) or Nintendo listening to people on the internet/fans/trolls?

Agree. Finished it 100% then immediately did hard/hero 100% (except for the 16 minute big cuckoo. Who would put themselves through THAT?) It's one of the really good Zelda's. It's basically back in the SNES era you hoped Nintendo would just do more of the same, and they have but with new ideas and graphics!

While I 99.9% agree with you, this IS the best case scenario AND most likely outcome, BUT...who's to say Sony won't go evil? Versions that barely work on the normal console and only really work as intended on the new version. Aren't they sharing online structure, too? Anyone who plays online pro-like will have ZERO choice whether they upgrade or not due to unfair performance issues/balancing. And "other" stuff. Things "could" get VERY dodgy. "Function" you say, Serebii. Function (as in work to some degree) and function optimally is a vast range. I can function on hour an hour's sleep in a two day period. Just not function very well, but I am functional.

If you have another 3DS you can simply set another Mii to it with that birthday. Would you consider it cheating? I have four 3DS's (between me and my bro, 2 originals and 2 New XLs) that I started using for streetpasses, but haven't played in a while (I rarely go out and the local city relays are random as fuck). I have most of the games at "complete but not 100%" before I could stomach playing them EVERYDAY no more. Been a while...could probably give 'em another go...MAYBE.

The trouble is, boss, that it only states it will be "the focus" and "only PLAYABLE game" (on that notification a few posts back) and nowhere does it say it will be the sole game shown in any way during the E3 season. That's THE problem. Having the big Z as the main focus and sole playable game at E3 doesn't neccessarily mean no sizzle reel for Direct. I mean...wasn't that the whole point of Directs in the first place?

I wonder how much it would cost to host their own event? They used to (Spaceworld), so clearly can afford it. May even show more confidence and hype...show that it's got full backing by them. I get they like their Directs, but they seem ever fewer... You know E3? Specifically Nintendo's showcase...does anyone know if it's really JUST Zelda? I figured it was "just one playable game" (Zelda) and a sizzle reel of 3DS/Wii U games on Direct...but I keep hearing there won't even be the Direct sizzle reel. It seems weird considering there's still a few Wii U games left (Paper Mario, Zelda, others that I forget, probably an unnanounced game or two) and a FULL plate for the 3DS. I get blanking the Wii U, but doing it to the 3DS/the current best selling console this gen (at the mo') seems dumb as fuck. Does anyone know for 100%?

Looks like a good looking console. I've been bitten in the past though, having got the silver fur MHU4 version, and it gets patches that come off easy. One on the left side I had to place tape over so it stopped getting worse (there's other parts). Damn, that IS early. I never even properly finished MHU3. I went on to the multiplayer missions and did pretty much them all except some of the DLC later missions and super hard missions, getting armor for the final story one or two story levels, but never got back to it. The same has happened with MHU4, exept with even less done. I REALLY enjoy the games, it's just I enjoy multi, but can't stand online (various reasons including tech issues) and my bro broke near the end of MHU3 which caused him to give up early in MHU4. He broke because he refused to change weapons, always using twin daggers+"charge enemies and bash buttons until low, then heal" with barely any tactics. Basically his style was just to bring every healing item and do THAT. Admittedly, so did I for a while until I started learning tactics, but he refused to go past the basics, which as you can guess makes later monsters frustrating as hell and nigh on impossible. So he got mega bored. I keep telling him that a change in weapons makes the game fresh, but he thinks I'm just pestering/tricking him into playing again for my own reasons. I guess I am, but I love multi on this game. The thing is he loved it when he first started and played 100+hours. Frustrating. Anyone else personally experience this themselves or know anyone who quit for these reasons?

Factor in how useless some online shops are at sending stuff out on time, and also factoring in the randomness of how long British post takes (assuming they don't deliver it elsewhere...) and a lot will be waiting a lot more than five days, likely over a week. I don't see why we should be punished just because some arsehole in (France, was it?) leaked the last games early.

Yes, no doubt the entire Pokedex will get dumped immediately, and simply typing Pokemon in Google will bring up images of a dex picture list. And every Pokemon site will have the champion's name in the topic titles. Hopefully the game has soooooo much content those that deliberately spoil will be too active doing... Battle Frontier, PWT, post-game Kalos (or somewhere else), since it's Hawaii I expect a chain of islands with some of them post-game, new Episodes etc. If this is the same lame short first set as usual I will be VERY dissapointed. Hopefully any intended 3rd set Kalos extras will be added to a post game area. I mean...it's taking all this time, it can't just be a short XY type game...right? Reassure me, Serebii. Litten. Fire and Dark (eventually) is an obvious guess. Also, I'm pretty sure Hawaii has scary wild cats which future forms are probably based on.

The fact is though, the Wii U sold crap...BUT it sold enough for Nintendo to create many first party multi-million selling games which gave profit (no idea if Wii U hardware eventually gave profit). Then you have their portable hardware...which is faaaaar from crashing (isn't it the current best selling console of this gen?) When 3DS games sell as much as they do for ONE console, no way are Nintendo going under. All this gen I've prayed Nintendo wake up and realise what their strength is (portables) and promote more resources to it. IF this new NX is the hybrid (likely not, just compatible OS's) and they don't promote the portable side over the home I dread to think what damage it could do to them. THIS is a scenario what "could" kill Nintendo. It truly is their strength and sometimes it feels like they don't get THAT.

Only showing ONE game? I thought it was "only showing one to play at E3 game?" and they'll be doing the usual sizzle reel of games for 3DS/Wii U. It must be that because aren't they showing Sun/Moon, too? Who's spreading this misleading info I'm hearing everywhere...? I'd say the new Paper Mario will be shown too, as well as others. I think we're going to get some 3DS surprises too, assuming they aren't leaked beforehand. As others have said; going third party would break what fans like about Nintendo. Nintendo polish would be gone as they try to rush out half a dozen versions, and everything they release would only be the "only sells a billion copies" games. And a lot of classic IPs would die or get relegated to indie style or phone "mini version games." Even though they've expanded their dev teams they really don't have that many. They rely on the fact that a huge percentage of owners of their consoles are "core fans" who essentially buy most first party games, ensuring multi-million sellers...even for just one console. Would certain IPs see stronger presences? Yes, I'm sure you're right (Metroid FPS would likely become more popular, and I could see F-Zero doing good multi, too). Whether they keep alive or not depends on how they go about it. If they tried it like they do now...they'd crash. The multiple non main IP games would cause them to leak money, which means they'd stick to core IPs to survive. They wouldn't be able to do yearly updates of the main IPs without a huuuuuuge quality drop. Each main game would need years of dvelopement to keep the quality everone is used to. They'd lose all the huge amounts of money they make from 3DS consoles and successful home consoles and wouldn't have the money they have now to invest in the amount of such big games anyway, they'd have to let go of second parties that are helping bulk their titles out. Nintendo would die bit by bit. The thought of third party Nintendo is not appealing to me. There's other issues too but...meh.

Having it link with a Wii U AC may inhibit sales, much more likely another 3DS one.

About the fates entwined...maybe it could be positive? Let's face it, like has been said power-wise PS4>>>X0. And the NX supposedly >>>PS4. The new PS4 could bring them equal footing...could we actually see X0 pushed to third position with "most optimised version" being Sony and Nintendo with Xbox left in the "worst version' situation rather than Nintendo as it usually has been? Therefore the new PS4 "could" be seen as a good thing for Nintendo. With the supposed ease to port and possible secondary port later of NX handheld giving devs even more reason to focus on it, could we be looking at Nintendo shifting into one of the top spots for multi-console ports and Xbox out of it...?

I think the problem with the new Playstation, Sheikah is...not that they fear games won't reach BOTH, but more a "it works great on the new one and we spent more time on that one...who gives a shit how subpar the other version is just as long as it works." Look at the flack Hyrule Warriors Legends got...and this from a company who forces those in second party to their games massive amounts of pollishing.

KI:U is excellent, but the control scheme is a nightmare. You do eventually get used to it and become an expert...but it's still uncomfortable. The VA is hilarious and really good. But I couldn't see its type working for Zelda.

Yes, that thing that is wrong is; most owners of Nintendo have a Playstation or Xbox for third party already...so what's the point in owning the late/bunked version? I don't think the issue will solve with NX; people have already (largely) made their "multiplat console of choice" this gen already. And guess which console it ISN'T? (Because it's not out yet...)

On lanuch games; wouldn't surprise me if there's a Mario in there. You gotta believe they're at least working on a 3D World 2. Or I suppose it could be Land 2 and for 3DS. I'd say they're working on both a Wii U and 3DS Mario, and that the Wii U one likely got moved to NX a while back. PS; WTF did we never get a Mario (U)niverse for Wii U...? It's like so obvious...wouldn't surprise me if we find out years from now they were working on one and it became a different Mario game.

Let's be honest here; is there anyone in existence that believed otherwise to its typing...?
