The World Ends With You - Squeenix Fashion-Dance-JRPG!
Stabby replied to gaggle64's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Finally a good RPG! Most RPG's bore me to death with their turn-based battles, this is just great -
I'm considering Final Fantasy III DS but the transitions from gameplay to battle and the battles themselves seem way too long, especially compared to the 2D FF games. The way I see battles in videos would annoy me so much that I would stop playing. Am I seeing this wrong or what?
-
btw is it allowed to link to videogame music? I've made some compilations that were very well recieved on other forums.
-
Just wanted to share this with you guys. A while ago I uploaded most of Amano's Final Fantasy artwork. Being a big fan of his work I put quite a lot of time in it since I had to save each picture seperately. The result is this 70MB file: http://rapidshare.com/files/4558025/Yoshitaka_Amano.zip

Just recieved it after ordering from the star catalogue. I must say I'm impressed with the ghost parts, I like the graphical style a lot. But the first person parts are really bad imo, the controls suck and the graphics are a lot worse (good textures though)
-
So wait, BigTac was right? I think this decision has been made very recently though...
-
I'm sure it will be a compilation of the last-gen trilogy with some improvements. No way that the Wii is getting a Prince of Persia developed with the controller in mind.
-
Super Mario Galaxy coming that fast? I was expecting may/june. Will probably be delayed to Q4 though. Also, you forgot to add Prince of Persia (March) and no way that Resident Evil is coming this fiscal year.
-
In januari he heard from Ubisoft themselves that these games were in development: Only one of those was real (fps), so apparently Ubisoft told him about six games that aren't coming to the Wii and "forgot" to tell them about the seven other projects.
-
Oh and another thing that definately proofs him fake. He said: Final dev kits were never thought to go out in January/Februari. In fact, there weren't different revisions of the dev kits like he always stated. There was Gamecube with controller+RAM and the final dev kits which were released in June. That's it. Take the developers of Red Steel. They were still working with the first dev kits (cube+controller+RAM) until april of this year. Then they recieved the final dev kits. At least that's what they have told themselves. And I overlooked a bit in his Ubisoft trip quote: It's confirmed that developers were still working with the first dev kits, so there's no way that games could have looked amazing. There weren't any amazing looking games at E3 and they didn't make any of us feel that the specs are higher.

I've gathered most of the things he said to see what he got right/wrong (not in chronicle order) 9/5/06 30-4-06 ^ he said Red Steel's images don't do the game justice while they were actually target render. The build back then looked far worse than the scans. 8-5-06 about DQS: "hey look at me, I guessed right" Not really what an insider who risks his job by violating his NDA would say. 7-5-06 wrong and wrong. Yeah he said you never know what they're gonna do to play it safe. Doesn't make up for his mistakes at all. 14-12-05 19-12-05 19-12-05 wrong 22-12-05 wrong again. I don't even think the final name was decided back then. 27-03-06 I'm actually surprised how much of this he got right 28-03-06 29-03-06 (my birthday!) 20-03-06 about GDC and E3 didn't happen 6-3-06 about GDC none of those things happened 23-2-06 someone said: BigTac responded: wrong, especially at that time when nearly every developer (even the Red Steel one) still had updated Cube dev kits. 7-2-06 Tony Hawk and CoD3 prove him wrong 12-1-06 He had most of that list wrong (no splinter cell 4, no tmnt, no BiA3, no Killing Day, no exclusive title unknown genre and Free Radical has confirmed they're not making Haze for the Wii and they have no other titles in development). So out of the 8 Ubisoft games that are confirmed, he guessed only one right (exclusive fps, Red Steel) 23-1-06 23-1-06 six months have passed and still no Wiining Eleven announced. Now I'm tired, so if anyone else wants to contribute: http://www.revo-europe.com/forum/search.php?searchid=72167&pp=25&page=2 I did everything above the topic "I'm back" (including that one)

BigTac appeared to be a fake. He said the Wii would use a graphical technique to make the graphics look next-gen. He also said that Splinter Cell: Double Agent would be coming to the Wii, but looking at the games Ubisoft has announced, I believe Ubisoft wouldn't hide that. I don't think Ubisoft themselves had decided to bring Splinter Cell to the Wii half a year ago and not announce it with their 7 other launch window titles. I can't believe people actually trusted him. If he's real, he would have broken his NDA's a million times without getting caught and sued. BigTac would have to be really brave to take such a risk and he would be the first in the world to achieve that kind of succes regarding NDA's.

Look at the size of this thing. If you take away the Gamecube controller and memory card slots, DVD drive, etc. you're left with an extremely small package.
-
I don't know, but it could be a slot for SD cards or something of the likes.
-
omg, I can't believe you were actually fooled by this pic. It's just her fingernail. edit: ok, so it's not...
-
That pic is made by Jarrosh of GAF. He's a genius.
-
I've got a hunch that the news will be that the game has been canceled.
-
There's a good chance it will just be the Xbox game with added Wii controls (which is cool) and some tiny improvements in the graphics department (16:9, 60fps, AA, improved physics) Or now that I'm thinking about it, it might be the PC version.
-
To prove my point twice dummy
-
Why would I even bother trying to write the same thing in a different way
-
That's definately for the DVD add-on. At first we thought it would be behind the flap, but there's only an SD card slot there.

Here's the rest of the scans for who's interested: http://www.strangereaction.com/imagehost/albums/userpics/10056/DCP01772.JPG http://www.strangereaction.com/imagehost/albums/userpics/10056/DCP01773.JPG http://www.strangereaction.com/imagehost/albums/userpics/10056/DCP01774.JPG http://www.strangereaction.com/imagehost/albums/userpics/10056/DCP01775.JPG There's more though

What can you do well with an accelometer thingy?
Stabby replied to Smowza's topic in Nintendo Gaming
- Boxing with your left hand - use the force in Star Wars - shifting in racing games - strafing in F-Zero - Peeking around corners in FPS - Punching an enemy in FPS with your left hand while aiming your gun with the Revmote That's all I can think of for now. -

Graphics on the technical side are really important too, I never said otherwise. Graphics need to be clean with sharp textures, no pop-up, good looking models, good lighting, and a high as possible framerate. That's what best describes the Revolution. With the Rev I won't have the feeling of missing out because it has less 'realistic' graphics. The graphics are great nontheless. There's a high demand for realism in games but imo that's just plain ridiculous. I can't believe how some people abandon their older games and "evolve" to the next generation. I can give you my top 10 of best games ever made and 7-8 of them are from the previous generations. And it has nothing to do with nostalgia, because I played Zelda OoT for the first time a year ago and it's my favorite game of all time.
