Konfucius Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 9.11.06 Wii can be preorder in Japanes shops now. At 7:30 there were already 20 people waiting in front of Tsutaya. At 10:00 there were 150 waiting. the first morning of Nintendo Wii preorders. DS Lite is the hottest thing in Japan, there's a huge buzz over the upcoming Wii console, and Nintendo is generally dominating the charts. With this in mind, I figured I'd play it safe and meet up with a friend at Tsutaya around 7:30am. Surely we'd be the first ones there, right? Wrong. When we got there, 20 people were already in line ahead of us. By the time 9am rolled around, there were an additional 70 or so behind us. And at 10am when the store officially opened, the number was close to 150. This is not launch morning, remember - this is just "walk up to the register, write down your name and get a little slip of paper" morning. Walking out the door after the deed was done, there was at least another 20 or 30 people in line from when we went in. The whole article and a few pictures can be found here And remember this is not launch day. Pretty impressing that people are so excited about pre-ordering. Well I place my preorder in September
Stickman Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I wish i could of lined up, at midight, got one, got home and played it all day
mike-zim Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 i need the wii now. it is so close cant wait.
The Lillster Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I still havn't preordered mine. Which is currently the best place to preorder? I'm thinking of preordering online through GAME.co.uk IS that a good idea?
triforce_keeper Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 http://www.pcworld.com Ive ordered from GAME but gunna try get one from pcworld as they have some great money saving bundles!
raven_blade2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I too have preordered from PC World, as soon as they started taking them. Game and Play.com seem to be overstretched already. Anyway there are STILL DS shortages in Japan, Amazing! The success of the DS has greatly intensified the demand for Wii in Japan. Even preordering the console has become a huge event.
Din Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 That's crazy having to wait in line to pre order the Wii!
Guest Stefkov Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Japan is going to explode. or will it implode?:horse: I really cant wait. Its amazing how many peple have said theyre getting a Wii who i know, theyre all sony fanboys.
Jasper Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 The first waiters for PS3 are in line too, check the report on engadget.com . Queuing for PS3 is not a bad idea, since the chances of getting one are as real as stumbling upon a bucket of gold burried by the midgets at the end of the rainbow. Almost none, that will be...
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Would it be so bad as to think that the Wii could take over the world? If any other console had this much hype prior to its launch, we would all agree that it did have a fair chance.
Jasper Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 We aare hyped, but we are Nintendo fans. If we were Sont fans, we might be just as excited and if you were Xbox-diehard a year ago, you'de eagerly be awaiting the 360. Don't know if our Hype is the only hype this generation...
Guest Stefkov Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 after reading that article, I now nelieve that th DS figures are as they seem. Seriously how many peopel live in Japan!! Queue just to get the Ds lite in tokyo!! Its been out how long and these people are queing p for one, because of stock shortages! If Japan is wanting the DS lite like this, I cant even imagine what it will be like for the Wii. I'll probably still see queues of peopel lining up to get one when i go Japan in 2 years!
