MindFreak Posted November 1, 2006 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Hi. I really need a program for the Mac, but I cannot find one. It concerns a program like the Windows-based DVD-shrink. In this particular program you could upload a DVD-movie, alter its content so it could fit one disc and then make a back-up on your computer. All of this in a friendly and easy-to-use interface. However, I have not been able to find a program similar to DVD-shrink for the Mac. I have found some but they were strange and difficult. I just want it easy and functioning. MindFreak Posted November 1, 2006 Author Share Posted November 1, 2006 Yeah, tried that but I cannot shrink the DVDs. That is the essential function I need. ThePigMarcher Posted November 2, 2006 Share Posted November 2, 2006 I am pretty sure that mac the ripper can't do that. I recommend using DVD2oneX , thats the one I use without any problems. ThePigMarcher Posted November 3, 2006 Share Posted November 3, 2006 I agree , that is what mac the ripper is designed to do But Most DVDs will come in at more than 4.7GB , and quite regularly , even after removing all the special features , extra soundtracks/subtitles and unwanted stuff the movie alone will still come in at more than 4.7GB. This will still need compressing to allow the OP to put the movie onto a standard DVDR , and I dont believe that mac the ripper has the required compression software , which is where something think DVD2oneX comes in.
