New RAM, PC startup problems!

I just installed 1GB of RAM in my PC. It works fine, and my PC runs much faster. BUT! It keeps going into the blue screen of death 50% of the time when i turn it on. It loads windows, then crashes. This has only happened since i installed the RAM. Any idea what's wrong? Any help would be great!

Make sure The ram slots are clean.

Have you got your windows xp cd? If you have boot from that and repair windows. Might work

I doubt the repair windows helps, but try it. One thing that helped me (i had a similar problem) is changing the slot where you put the RAM. If you're using slot 1 change to the slot 2 or vice-versa. It solved my problem a few years ago. Ram is really tricky sometimes, in terms of compatibility. If it doesn't work, just ask the shop to trade that in.

one time it said i had to much RAM and my computer froze a lot so i took a gb out and it worked perfectly... but i had still 3gb remaining so it didnt bother me that much. If you don't have much ram left thats a bummer.

I just took my old RAM out and replaced it with my new one. I guess the slot was screwed up! Anyway, it's fine now. Thanks Everyone!

It possibly could of been a incompatible RAM stick. Make sure they are the same brand.
