I need help. I want to erase my hard drive so i can start over. For some reason help and support wont run so i cant use system restore. I have also used the Ctrl+F11 on my computer (DELL) to erase the hard drive but it wont happen. HELP ME, PLEASE :(

Do you want to re-install windows or is it a spare hard drive? If you are going to re-install, are you sure? If you can't delete the information on a disk maybe it's not the best idea to attempt that.

It's pretty easy. Put a Windows CD in your drive, reboot*, follow the prompts and select "delete all partitions". Install on the big blank one. Voila.

 

* You may have to tell your PC to boot from the CD first, hard drive second, etc. Reboot and it should say "Push DEL to enter setup" or "Push F12 to enter setup", make the CD top of the boot order.

hmm on dell its usual CTRL + F11 wen the blue dell bar appears on start up, then system restore, and it takes it back to wen u got it.

Thank you that link to Microsoft helped. I formated my HD. how im trying to install the drivers :p
